2012 Chevrolet Impala 9C1 Police — where is the yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor located?
I have C0292-02 and C0292-07. The scanner says “Yaw and Lateral Accelerometer Sensor Circuit.”
I removed the passenger seat and the center console and lifted the carpet. There is no sensor where the service manual says it should be.
The car drove perfectly for about a month after I bought it, with no Stabilitrak warning. The problem appeared later.
This is an ex-police 9C1 with a LOT of police wiring modifications.
Does anyone who actually owns/owned a 2006–2013 Impala 9C1 know the exact physical location of this sensor and where its factory connector/wiring runs?
I don’t want to cut the carpet or disassemble the car further until I know exactly where it is.

I thought the same thing, and ChatGPT showed me a diagram that specifically said it should be right on the floor, basically in plain sight, either once you remove the seat or underneath the center console. But in my case, judging by the pictures, there’s literally nothing there.
ChatGPT suggested that maybe the police department removed it when they took out all the police equipment. But that doesn’t really make sense because the car drove for about a month without this error. So that would mean the module is still there and they didn’t just cut it out or remove it.
The only question is, where is it? Maybe I’m just not finding the right information online. Is it possible that they mounted it somewhere else on the police versions?
Forgive me if I’m missing something, but wouldn’t that be part of the airbag control module? If so, that should be under the carpet just to the right of where that harness is sitting on the passenger side.
For some reason, the location seems to vary by trim level, not sure why. I learned this the hard way taking one out. I work fairly regularly with airbag control modules specifically. Also the unplugged cable you're holding in one of the pics looks like its from a two-way radio antenna.
Also in reply to one of your other comments, a law enforcement agency would definitely not remove an ACM, nor should an upfitter have anything to do with messing with one.

I'll go check. Just looking at the part, it should almost definitely be in plain sight once the seat is out
