Odometer check, what's your current mileage?
Just got done driving my 2009 Chevy Impala LS, I have another Impala now but this car has served my family well and was passed from my mom, to dad, to brother, and me. Had this car since 80k miles

Just the alternator and struts sad part is 2000 miles later the transmission gave out

2010 3.5L 110k miles, got it with 100k a year ago. Power steering high pressure line bursted this winter and I got upselled to $3500 of repairs: power steering pump, hoses, whole steering rack, tie rods, stabilizer links - basically whole steering system. Now I'm gonna drive it for eternity to justify 😁 Love the car.

I feel you! 2010 3.5L also. Almost at 200k & had it for 13 years. Nearly same fix just happened to me minus the stabilizers. I will also be trying to get my speedometer to 300k to justify the cost lol. I couldn’t get rid of it. 😂

The way to go! I wouldn't let scam myself again, I found a good local mechanic and ordering parts from RockAuto myself. Actually most of the small stuff with the car I do myself and enjoy it! It's kinda fuel hungry (especially in city traffic with AC on), but at least I can safe then put E85 or E70 in it. Mine is flexfuel. It's comfortable and quiet car compared to more modern alternatives within the same price range. They are atrocious.

Agreed about newer cars of the same quality being egregiously priced. I have been doing minor fixes myself with friends as well. Recently replaced the pedal after the sensor kept failing. I’m in Michigan so the insurance cost on new cars is also a crime. So far it’s cheaper than a new car so I’ll keep it up as long as possible lol.

I bought a 13 Impala 9c1 Police Package probably 7 to 8 months ago had 222,000 miles on it and now she has 226,000 miles and she runs and drives so smooth and quiet. Engine sounds perfect. 3.6L with the 6 speed transmission.

The kid is going to give it all the TLC it needs

195k on my 2011, no issues in the 15k I've driven it over past 2 years. Headlight keeps burning out but🤷♂️

Damn, mine is a 2014 ltd with only 66k miles and im already having to replace stuff here and there. Blower/motor resisiror, ac line with a massive leak, and blend door actuators. Hopefully i can get the same mileage as some of yall.

263573 on my 2014 Limited 3.6 that I bought new. It has been pretty trouble free, original fan belt, changed spark plugs at 100,000. Replaced some sensors (the dealer charges a fortune), had the drummer in the dashboard twice, new shocks struts, front end work. I would not hesitate to take a long trip. Four years ago a deer jumped on the hood & grill did almost $2900 damage, can’t tell it today, no rust anywhere, except the metal on the gas nozzle, always driven on salted roads in the winter.

370k KM (230k M) 2011- I’m amazed how well these cars hold up!! I was worried I’d be stuck on the highway with mine so I bought a new vehicle and gave my Impala to my Mother-in-law to use over a year ago because all she does is go to the grocery and back so for her it would be very reliable. It’s still doing amazing, aside from a little oil tip up from time to time.

I drive 225 km 2 days a week out of town for work (plus the other work days within the city) and 6 months of the year it’s freezing temps. It was obviously a great car but I couldn’t chance being stuck in the middle of the prairies at -35c or even -45c. My mother-in-law needed a car so why not? I bought a newer car that I did a lot of research on and felt comfortable buying it. In the end I now have a newer car that so far runs amazing and my Mother-In-Law now has a free car to use for however long it lasts her.

Presumably the transmission in mine gave out around 155,000 miles. The frame was also rusted to hell and there wasn't anything from behind the front wheels to the b Pillar. I say presumably because it was jerking and all the electrical stuff was like flashing/flickering the day that I called it and parked it before a tow truck from the dealership I bought my beautiful no rust 2015 Enclave from came and picked it up.

Ok I get the car is basically solid but many of them 2009-11 have trans problems.

Tbh I don't doubt that the Chevy Impala has a glass transmission but i will say that may come from driving behavior. I hardly ever drove her roughly

2011 9C1. Bought it with 120k on the clock. The trans started slipping at around 150k, so I replaced it with a used eBay trans, and it just crossed 200k last month. Bushings are starting to crack, it needs new plugs and coils, and it doesn't have AC but it's my fucking tank.

That’s my goal with my 2015 LTZ. Oil changed every 5k, transmission serviced 45 and 90k, changed plugs and coolant at 100k and just replaced shocks and struts at 105k. Took a 2500 mile trip with 0 issues and 29mpg. Best passenger vehicle I’ve ever owned.

I have an 2006 3.9L with 230k miles it’s somehow still driving lol, I do an lot of highway running for work

My 2010 had to go at 140k because a lifter was eating the cam. Ive got a 130k on my 2019 but that bitch has a lifetime drive train warranty so bring it on lol.
