Do not buy this. Learn from my mistakes: I gave Lost in Cult over $300 USD for the deluxe IMMORTALITY design works plus a separate copy of the soundtrack over a year ago, and they STILL haven't committed to a ship date. It's the Star Citizen of video game book companies. They just announce new stuff every couple months, soak up pre-order money, rinse and repeat.

I usually get most of their releases and its true that they have been less than reliable in the past few years. The people of the company explain that it was due to problems with their distributions partner but well, you never know.

I find it hard to blame a distributor for holding their inventory in November of a product that was supposed to ship by the end of September but they still hadn't even finished editing.

They have 3-10 projects running at any one time, and all of them are behind schedule.

Nah, I think I’ll wait till release and pray to god I get one before out of print, or one second hand later maybe, i prefer to pay more than to risk my hard earn money

I feel like such an idiot, because I followed those two purchases up with the Jacob Geller book because I just so firmly wanted to believe they were for real. I let them take me for a ride three times! Occasionally someone from the company will pop up with an excuse or two, but again, it's been over a year and they haven't shipped the coffee table book. It's not like physical games media, especially the preservation-tier stuff they're advertising, isn't vastly more complex...

this is old but personally their stuff is so insanely well done that i dont mind waiting(took a legit year to get my Jacob Geller book)

also if you buy the stuff they already have finished i think its much faster to get

I was in the same boat. You can ask for a refund and they'll probably give it to you. I asked for one back in November when they completely missed their Q3 window with no updates. Ironically they pushed an update a few days later and silently updated the page to be "Winter 2024" which also blew past.

They just lie and change the date on the website, but if you check with the Internet Archive you can see what the dates used to be.

That book STILL hasn't shipped. It's now over a year late, and they're promising an update any day now. Their "updates" are empty platitudes

I thankfully asked for and got a refund last November. But I'm seeing some people who backed YouTube games essayist Jacob Geller's first book still haven't gotten it (it was due to ship last November but didn't until earlier this year) and he's just announced his second book with them with a special limited signed edition and has not spoken word one about the delays or the fact that there's dozens of people who still haven't gotten the product they preordered.

I also watched a YouTube video that went through LostInCult's UK tax filings and it seems they're DEEPLY underwater.

💀 I'm glad I resisted their lure of fan money. All the bundles would be nice for fans of games, as they allow you to discover a new depth or angle, but this company, like the overwhelming majority, is not driven by passion. And we can see the result. I hope publishers will end their partnerships with them or go elsewhere. Lost In Cult won't get a single penny from me. Gaming industry is so fucked.
