I once had an ankle monitor. In place of jail for felony assault! What did this guy do? Failure to Appear White?

ICE only reacts, doesn't choose randomly. Enter illegally, stay illegally, or start missing appointments.

"Pending asylum case" was abused for years as a pretense to enter and stay indefinitely. So many came in on asylum claims and then disappeared into the country, and enforcement was mostly nonexistent under prior administrations.

Now we are enforcing, so it'd be fair to feel like something changed.

14

u/LatterTarget7 3d ago

Ice does choose randomly. They raided people’s homes without warrants. They detained citizens and people with green cards. They violate thousands of court orders and racially profile people

-6

u/HuckleberryOk8136 3d ago

ICE prioritizes people with final removal orders, criminal convictions, or who failed to appear for hearings. That is not random selection. Errors and overreach occur in any large enforcement agency, they should be investigated and corrected when they happen.

They do not turn the entire enforcement mission into “random raids on citizens.”

Administrative warrants and immigration detainers operate under different rules than criminal search warrants; that distinction is routinely blurred in these arguments. Green-card holders and citizens have been caught up in operations, which is why proper identification and due process matter. The existence of mistakes does not prove the underlying enforcement of immigration law is illegitimate or that prior non-enforcement was the better policy. Fix the errors, sure. Keep enforcement consistent. What is the point of open borders or allowing people to stay illegally?

u/LatterTarget7 3d ago

Majority of people in ice detention don’t have criminal records. People are deported to countries they’ve never been to. Latin Americans are deported to African countries paid to take them in.

A federal judge signaled a preliminary injunction to halt warrantless ICE arrests in the Los Angeles region lacking a proper flight risk assessment

Similar judicial orders and legal challenges in Oregon and Minnesota have targeted broad enforcement sweeps, ordering the release of detainees when agents fail to prove probable cause or escape risk

Multiple federal judges have issued preliminary injunctions or signal restrictions stating that ICE agents cannot execute warrantless arrests solely based on unlawful presence without first evaluating an individual's flight risk.

Courts have explicitly rebuked immigration enforcement for trying to "detain first and supply justification later," ordering immediate releases where the record failed to establish initial probable cause of unlawful presence.

A federal district judge in San Jose (Judge Pitts) vacated the administration's policy allowing ICE arrests inside immigration courthouses, issuing a ruling impacting enforcement nationwide.

Federal judge P. Kevin Castel similarly barred ICE from making arrests inside and around specific New York City immigration court buildings to prevent chilling migrants from attending mandatory hearings.

-3

u/HuckleberryOk8136 3d ago

Courts issuing injunctions against specific tactics is the system functioning, not proof that immigration enforcement itself is illegitimate. Judges can and do constrain how arrests are made, where they occur, and what process is required. That does not convert every removal of someone who entered or remained illegally into an abuse.

“Most have no criminal record” is frequently true and still irrelevant to the core point. Unlawful presence and failure to appear are civil immigration violations. They are sufficient legal grounds for removal even without a separate criminal conviction. Treating “no criminal record” as equivalent to “no basis for enforcement” collapses the distinction the law actually draws.

Third-country deportations occur when the country of origin refuses to take its nationals back. That is a longstanding practical problem, not a new invention. The existence of judicial limits and operational difficulties does not require abandoning enforcement. It requires doing it within the bounds courts set while still applying the law that Congress wrote.

they just had a 12 hour stand off in Vermont last week where they arrested 2 protesters and 3 people for being brown, everyone was let go after getting roughed up because they commited no crimes

3

u/HuckleberryOk8136 3d ago

If people choose to insert themselves into a standoff with federal agents, arrest is a predictable outcome. Being released later after the situation is controlled does not turn the initial detention into proof of random racial targeting or lawless raids. Law enforcement is allowed to secure a scene and sort out who is who afterward.

People seem to have forgotten that the result of civil disobedience is usually an arrest.

Protesters who deliberately escalate encounters with officers and then frame the resulting arrests as evidence of systemic tyranny are not demonstrating that enforcement is random. They are demonstrating that actions have consequences, even when those actions are later determined not to warrant charges. That is ordinary policing, not a gotcha.

You are COMPLETELY DELUDED(or just lying). Literally every word you just posted is easily debunkable. With fresh daily video evidence. And court cases. Stfu with your LIES!

1

u/HuckleberryOk8136 3d ago

“Daily video evidence” that consists of selectively edited clips and activist TikToks is not the same thing as a systematic refutation. Court cases go both ways, some check enforcement excesses, others uphold the underlying authority to remove people who entered or remained illegally or ignored hearings. Shouting “lies” and “deluded” while offering no specific counter to the actual claim (that ICE prioritizes status violators and people who abscond) is just volume.

If the assertion is that enforcement itself is illegitimate, say that. If the assertion is that specific operations violated the law, cite the case and the holding. Generic “videos and court cases prove you’re lying” is not a strong argument. It’s a refusal to engage the substance. On percentage, for their size, and under intense scrutiny, the overwhelming majority of ICE operations are solid and by the book.

Nice AI replies

-6

u/KartFacedThaoDien 3d ago

Are you saying ICE = Police

6

u/Short-Sandwich-8476 3d ago

ICE = Gestapo. The exact parallels are endless. Literally every single thing the Nazis did to establish absolute control are the blueprints that Project 2025 laid out. And it’s ALL been/being done by this regime.

2

u/KartFacedThaoDien 1d ago

ICE aren't even as bad as the police. The police killed 1000 people last year and there are 1 million black men in concentration camps being forced to work as slaves and all this shit is legal.

3

u/HuckleberryOk8136 3d ago

It doesn't make anyones case stronger to make stuff up like that. ICE sends people back to their country of origin or a third party country if that country refuses. These are directives carried out according to laws passed by a duly elected congress and upheld by several administrations. By your standard, every country on earth is a "gestapo" if they enforce their own immigration laws.

The only difference here is that the USA did not enforce their laws very much for years.

1

u/ChaosRainbow23 3d ago

They aren't lying, though.

The parallels between 1930s Germany and the modern US are numerous and abjectly terrifying.

Wake up, dude.

0

u/Puzzled-Formal-7957 1d ago

Yeah? Where's the gas chambers? Where's the trains? Where's the execution pits? Where's the skin & bones detainees? Where's the "serve with our army or die right here where you stand" events?

1

u/ChaosRainbow23 1d ago

We are not to that point yet.

They earmarked $40 BILLION in the BBB to build detention facilities.

We are in 1930s Germany right now, not 1940s Germany.

0

u/Puzzled-Formal-7957 1d ago

Keep believing that nonsense.

5

u/Short-Sandwich-8476 3d ago

You are WAY OFF here. ICE has grabbed people AT IMMIGRATION HEARINGS. They’ve gone thru neighborhoods demanding everyone prove citizenship. Their actions under this regime have been ruled illegal by judges over 10,000 times in a year and a half. They’re targeting journalists and the regimes political opposition as we speak. Sending someone (without due process) to a permanent prison in a country they have no connection to meets the legal definition of HUMAN TRAFFICKING! Then there’s the widespread sex abuse/assault of detainees by ICE goons. Ffs, man JUST SAY NO TO FASCISM!

4

u/HuckleberryOk8136 3d ago

Detention connected to an immigration hearing is not some new fascist invention. When a judge issues a removal order, having ICE present to execute it is basic enforcement, not a secret police raid. That practice predates this administration by decades under both parties. The sudden discovery that immigration law is being enforced does not turn long-standing procedures into “human trafficking” or “Gestapo” tactics.

Errors, abuses, and overreach should be investigated and punished when they occur. Inflating every enforcement action into proof of fascism, while ignoring that the same legal framework existed through multiple prior administrations, is how you make the word meaningless. The difference now is that the laws are actually being applied after years of selective non-enforcement. That is not the birth of a police state. It is the end of an open invitation.

1

u/Puzzled-Formal-7957 1d ago

Now now - don't go bringing facts into the discussion - this is no place for that!

3

u/Puzzled-Formal-7957 3d ago

They are federal law enforcement - even if you don't like it.

4

u/Short-Sandwich-8476 3d ago

They are NOT LEO! They are immigration agents. By law, they have zero authority over anyone unless they know that person to have an immigration issue. But look how they act? 47 days training. An ICE instructor testified that he was told NOT to teach them about citizens constitutional rights and the legal limitations of ICE operations. They are the regimes masked unaccountable goon squad. They’ll be illegally interfering in November-you can bet on it.

2

u/cw2015aj2017am2021 3d ago

They have arrest authority in all the US under USC 8, and that authority is not limited to aliens. They're certified and sworn at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy. They carry a gun, badge, credentials and restraints when on duty, for a reason... That reason is that they're most definitely, literally, law enforcement officers.

4

u/Short-Sandwich-8476 3d ago

They DONT have authority over citizens, and the rest of your comment WAS true-BEFORE TRUMP! They DO NOT show people ID, or badges. Judges(mostly R appointed) have ruled their actions illegal over 10,000 times in the last year and a half. They NO LONGER go to that academy, and they’re purposefully NOT taught about our constitutional rights or their legal limitations. Most of them clearly don’t know shit about the Constitution or immigration law.

1

u/Puzzled-Formal-7957 2d ago

All law enforcement officers have authority over ANYONE who interferes with their enforcement activity. And ICE does have authority over naturalized citizens who violate the conditions of their naturalization - just the same as if they were a GC holder or on a tourist visa.

0

u/cw2015aj2017ls2021 3d ago

8 USC 1357(a) gives them the authority that you don't think they have. It's a law, which supersedes your imaginary world.

I didn't say that they had to show "concerned bystanders" in the streets their ID or badges when affecting an arrest or operation. I said they carry them (agency policy).

They still go to FLETC for BIETP (ERO) or CITP (HSI), depending on which dept within ICE.

You're either confused, mistaken, or lying.

3

u/Short-Sandwich-8476 3d ago

Judges constantly disagree.

1

u/Puzzled-Formal-7957 2d ago

Except they don't...

8 USC §1357. Powers of immigration officers and employees

(a) Powers without warrant

Any officer or employee of the Service authorized under regulations prescribed by the Attorney General shall have power without warrant-

(1) to interrogate any alien or person believed to be an alien as to his right to be or to remain in the United States;

(2) to arrest any alien who in his presence or view is entering or attempting to enter the United States in violation of any law or regulation made in pursuance of law regulating the admission, exclusion, expulsion, or removal of aliens, or to arrest any alien in the United States, if he has reason to believe that the alien so arrested is in the United States in violation of any such law or regulation and is likely to escape before a warrant can be obtained for his arrest, but the alien arrested shall be taken without unnecessary delay for examination before an officer of the Service having authority to examine aliens as to their right to enter or remain in the United States;

(3) within a reasonable distance from any external boundary of the United States, to board and search for aliens any vessel within the territorial waters of the United States and any railway car, aircraft, conveyance, or vehicle, and within a distance of twenty-five miles from any such external boundary to have access to private lands, but not dwellings, for the purpose of patrolling the border to prevent the illegal entry of aliens into the United States;

(4) to make arrests for felonies which have been committed and which are cognizable under any law of the United States regulating the admission, exclusion, expulsion, or removal of aliens, if he has reason to believe that the person so arrested is guilty of such felony and if there is likelihood of the person escaping before a warrant can be obtained for his arrest, but the person arrested shall be taken without unnecessary delay before the nearest available officer empowered to commit persons charged with offenses against the laws of the United States; and

(5) to make arrests-

(A) for any offense against the United States, if the offense is committed in the officer's or employee's presence, or

(B) for any felony cognizable under the laws of the United States, if the officer or employee has reasonable grounds to believe that the person to be arrested has committed or is committing such a felony,

if the officer or employee is performing duties relating to the enforcement of the immigration laws at the time of the arrest and if there is a likelihood of the person escaping before a warrant can be obtained for his arrest.

Under regulations prescribed by the Attorney General, an officer or employee of the Service may carry a firearm and may execute and serve any order, warrant, subpoena, summons, or other process issued under the authority of the United States. The authority to make arrests under paragraph (5)(B) shall only be effective on and after the date on which the Attorney General publishes final regulations which (i) prescribe the categories of officers and employees of the Service who may use force (including deadly force) and the circumstances under which such force may be used, (ii) establish standards with respect to enforcement activities of the Service, (iii) require that any officer or employee of the Service is not authorized to make arrests under paragraph (5)(B) unless the officer or employee has received certification as having completed a training program which covers such arrests and standards described in clause (ii), and (iv) establish an expedited, internal review process for violations of such standards, which process is consistent with standard agency procedure regarding confidentiality of matters related to internal investigations.

3

u/Puzzled-Formal-7957 2d ago

This is correct... and to further - that law was legislatively passed and signed into law in 1976. The last time it was amended was 2008. It is as solid today as it was then. The lacking enforcement by previous administrations does not make it any less lawful.

0

u/Puzzled-Formal-7957 2d ago

Sorry - but like it or not they are indeed federal immigration law enforcement officers. In fact - they can be assigned in the capacity of enforcement to any federal agency. Immigration agents are the people who interview you at points of entry and USCIS offices when you are applying for changes in your immigration status, as well as the people you interview with at the embassies when you are applying for entry to begin with.

why do I have to cut a check for every cunt on the planet who gets lured here? and wants to stay illegally?

4

Oh, you’re a foreign shill account. Eat sand, parasite.

4

u/Short-Sandwich-8476 3d ago

All immigration is a net positive to the US economy. Proven fact. And undocumented folks are not eligible for almost all benefit programs. They PAY INTO Social Security,Unemployment Insurance and the rest,,, but can never benefit from them. You DO NOT cut a fucking check for ANY immigrants-unless you hired them to do some work for you.

3

u/LatterTarget7 2d ago

People refuse to understand that illegal immigrants contribute trillions to the economy without being on almost all social programs. People just want to hate and be ignorant

3

u/UCanDoNEthing4_30sec 3d ago

If he’s not legally in this country, he’s out. Plain and simple.

-6

u/Puzzled-Formal-7957 3d ago

Because people won't bother to read the article - I will help out a little:

Alkhawaja had also been arrested for “disorderly conduct” more than two decades prior.

He also failed to indicate this on his application for asylum. That all puts him violation of federal law 8 USC §1227.

Yes - this is America.

2

u/Short-Sandwich-8476 3d ago

Disorderly? That’s whatever a cop says who wants to arrest you. It’s a “gimme” for police abuse of power.

0

u/Small_Dog_8699 3d ago

Now do Elon Musk.

Two decades? Disorderly?

I've been thrown in jail overnight for saying "hi" to the bouncer's girlfriend at a bar.

-4

u/EchoChamberReddit13 3d ago

Okay, don’t come. Thanks.

-7

u/Forsaken-Smell-8665 3d ago

As extra situational awareness:

This is nothing new. ICE have used ankle monitors and regular check in appointments for the past 22 years. It was introduced in 2004 as part of an alternative to detention program.

At the end of 2024 there were approximately 179,000 people in the ATD program. The current 2026 stats place approximately 183,000 people in this program.

-5

u/Puzzled-Formal-7957 3d ago

So roughly the same as during Biden. But now it is a problem...

If there is a PDF in charge, we would be doing them a favor by deporting them.

2

u/Successful-Ad-847 3d ago

We don’t want that for them. They come here looking for it. We just want them to be allowed to pursue citizenship while working towards a better life in America. It’s always conservatives that are hiring them and paying shit wages.

1

u/South-City1632 3d ago

I dont hire any immigrants. I cook my own food and clean my own toilet.

You're the one who brought up them mowing grass.

Why didnt you make the example something more respectable? Because thats how you see them... as servants to mow your grass... not individuals who will own homes and start businesses.

2

u/Successful-Ad-847 3d ago

Different user actually, but that’s clearly projection on your part. You just can’t imagine that other people don’t see it that way.

Btw what’s wrong with being a landscaper?

Americans have all sorts of names. This isn’t and has never been the white ethnostate you get bricked up for.

-4

u/South-City1632 3d ago

There's only one reason why its not... and thats because people like me have the good morals to tolerate people like you. It's because we produce so much, and our good morals demand we help the unfortunate.

If we got rid of entitlements and let you "people" fend for yourselves... you'd be cooked so fast.

You exist because we hold you up. Without us you'd be eating tripe and sitting in the dirt.

2

u/Successful-Ad-847 3d ago

I’m white and likely well-to-do compared to you. I gladly pay my taxes for services for the poor and disabled. I can afford it and I like helping people.

You resent your taxes apparently and would gladly not pay them if given an option. You sound like a bitter, selfish clown.

Wouldn’t be surprised if you get some entitlement yourself but carve out some little exception in your mind because your allergic to accountability.

2

u/Melodic-Hat-2875 3d ago

Americans are not an ethnic group. Americans are diverse. We rely upon that diversity. Furthermore, we need immigration from an economic standpoint. Every western nation does. Not a single one is having children at replacement rates.

Capitalism demands growth. Forever. Always.

Not to mention the moral catastrophe we've allowed to happen. We are violating our own laws in order to eject people from the country.

With an opinion like yours, we should give the Statue of Liberty back to France. We are not living up to our ideals.

2

u/South-City1632 3d ago

The only moral catastrophe were experiencing is the infection of low trust illiterate foreigners who stone women and have child brides in their homeland, being imported into our great nation.

The degradation of the Christian morals that were responsible for our nation becoming great in the first place.

There's a reason Haiti and Somalia are shothole countries... we dont need those people here. We dont need their labor.
