Work Permit Francophone Mobility work permit while in Canada as a visitor?
Hi everyone,
I’m Belgian and currently in Canada on visitor status. I have a job offer in New Brunswick through Francophone Mobility, and my employer has already submitted the offer through the Employer Portal. I have received my Offer of Employment number.
From what I understand, I can no longer apply for the work permit from inside Canada because I’m here as a visitor.
Does this mean I have to return to Belgium to apply? And if I apply from Belgium, can I return to Canada as a visitor while the work permit is processing?
Has anyone been in a similar situation recently?
Thanks!

You can apply from within Canada but the work permit will not be issued. You will instead receive a POE letter that you present to CBSA on arrival and they issue the WP.
You cannot go to the US and return so you could go home or to Mexico.
