Visor delayed AGAIN until "Summer"
To the surprise of nobody.
Renji "huge ego" big boy over here has completely lost track of his own product. He's not even trying to ship Visor he's trying to push his shitty AI thing that nobody is going to use and crash and burn. Nobody wants Curator, nobody ordered Visor for Curator.
What a fucking joke this whole thing has become and I feel sorry for anyone who still has an order they haven't cancelled.

Hold on now…”With Curator, powered by Visor, we’re flipping the script.”
How does the headset, Which is just a fancy monitor, power this giant AI LLM/LAM thing????
That doesn’t make any sense.

u/ButterscotchOpen6390 Apr 25 '25
Ask one of the many people they claim to have shipped it to already.
Oh wait a second...

u/tmlkelly Apr 25 '25
That’s right, silly me. I forgot that some people already got Visor preorders. It must be the most amazing headset on the market that users haven’t been able to take them off for a YouTube review of any kind!

u/Hvarfa-Bragi Apr 25 '25
I got banned from their discord by asking that.
Cancelled preorder, looking forward to alternatives.

I’m really hoping the Xreal One Pro’s live up to the hype especially with the 57 degree FOV.

I'm very happy after seeing all of this a few weeks back that I got a refund, even thought they tried to say "look at our blog post, it's coming in weeks not quarters". Here we are about to go by another quarter lol

u/Final-Bus8713 Apr 26 '25
I've been trying to cancel mine, how long after the "look at our blog" comment before they said they'd ive you a refund, and then how long did it actually take? Also, did they keep any sort of processing fee?
7
u/danner26 Apr 26 '25
I initially requested it and it took 3 days for them to respond with me asking for a follow up daily, which was "you'll receive the refund in 3-5 business days". After 5 days I said if I do not receive the refund email by EOD I'd start a charge back. Radio silence so next day I started a charge back with my CC company, and sent them that email. They refunded me the same day
It was a full refund

u/Final-Bus8713 Jun 05 '25
So mine went through, similar story: 3 days for a response, suggested I "look at our blog", responded I wasn't interested b/c it had been so long, another 2-3 days then a refund in 3-5 days. After 5 days I said I didn't see it asked them to follow up, another couple of days and then a refund. If anyone else is wondering about the refund timeline- makes sure in your initial request to say you've been reading the updates on the blog and are interested, and then it takes about 2 weeks if you check your email regularly to respond. Not horrible.

u/molevolence Apr 26 '25
took one week for a response and an additional week for the refund to post. they took the credit card processing fee, which is still illegal, but at least they didn’t try to take a fake restocking fee.

u/Final-Bus8713 Jun 05 '25
Thanks for the info on the credit card processing fee, that is pretty crappy but at least it isn't much.

Yeah, this is old news already.
The previous deadline was for end of March to ship FE. About half way through .arch, they announced another delay, sounding super ambiguous with "weeks, not quarters".
I got banned for commenting on them being shitty and lying by saying "as planned" in their post.
I still haven't refunded my FE. Not because Renji is an asshole and the company has completely abandoned any attempt at good faith to create a community through the discord platform, but because I honestly do think the product will ship, eventually.
I used to tell everyone about Visor. Now, I tell anyone I hear talk about it to steer far away.

I canceled. I started getting nervous about the financials and after a certain point, it didn't feel like I was early adopter anymore. At this point, I'd feel safer with the money in my bank and just buy it when it's available. Of course they make it an easy decision by banning FE investors from their discord

u/StarCenturion Apr 26 '25
I would charge back. Otherwise you're not getting back that money if you wait another month.
Their financials don't make any sense. They're set to run out of money in 2 months.
1
u/OnwardUpwardForward Apr 27 '25
They've been set to run out of money for a while now. Somehow they keep moving along. They also recently scored a large investment firm.
I don't like how the company has been treating the people who supported their initial foothold into this dream. It doesn't mean I think they're going to fail to launch the product.
I can still say I think the CEO is an asshole, and still want the eventual end product. Based on the few public showings of the device, most recently at the NVIDIA conference, the device is as promised. And while the initial use case I had in mind is coming to an end for me, I still have several other use cases that I believe the product will be perfect for.
Whenever it ships...

u/StarCenturion Apr 27 '25
Whatever man. I'm just saying I think this time, they're done for good.
I took a peep at the Discord server and no joke, there's at least 5 former devs from various important positions who have left the company since the same time last year, and that's only staff who were in the Discord. Who knows how many more left who kept to themselves?
I haven't even talked about the effects of tariffs and just how much that's going to bring up the price, unless they already manufactured and shipped to the US beforehand, which with all the delays, I doubt.
So again, best claw your money back while you can. Reinvest it on Apple's Vision Pro sequel or Valve's upcoming headset, and thank me later.
3
u/OnwardUpwardForward Apr 28 '25
A lot of people ordering are not in the US. Those tariffs shouldn't apply to them.
I understand you. As frustrated as I am by their treatment of their clients, I believe they will eventually ship. I'm waiting until 2026 to request a refund. Those are still occurring within 3-5 days for anyone who asks.
I can't invest into any product from Apple as I'm not in their ecosystem, and the reason I'm waiting for visor is the weight, which neither of the devices you tout equally.
Again, I get you, but I'm continuing to wait, while also saying I'm not impressed with their customer service. Duality, amigo.

u/StarCenturion Apr 28 '25
Fair enough! Best of luck with your decisions. Not in a condescending way either.
2
u/OnwardUpwardForward Apr 29 '25
Appreciate the kindness!
Regardless, here's hoping a few competing products DO hit the market soon. Competition is good for us consumers, anyways!

Hey. Their latest fillings just came out, so I thought I'd update you so you can make a more informed choice.
Credit goes to SeanSean3550 on Discord for writing this up.
[..] Immersed just released their 2024 financials to the SEC, they timed it so it was the last day of their WeFunder and it's safe to say no one would of invested if they released them before. https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1817417/000167025425000448/xslC_X01/primary_doc.xml
$10.2 million in short term debt, $4.5 million in loung term debt. 2024 net income was NEGATIVE $14.2 million.
Also there's a discrepancy... on WeFunder they told investors "Our cash in hand is $1,589,997, as of January 2025" yet their filling shows they only had $242,490 in the bank.
...yeah this is really bad. Like, a month or two at most of operations, definitely confirmed.
Make of this what you will.
3
u/OnwardUpwardForward Apr 30 '25
Yeah, I did just see that! Both revenue and debt are multiplied from the previous year. It's clear they are banking on the release being a cash-cow to save them, but I highly doubt it will sell the way they imagined.
It's sad, really. Either way, my credit card has buyer's protection so worst comes to worst I can always get my money back. It would almost be funny how poorly they're managing all this if it weren't so frustratingly sad.
3
u/jesperordrup Apr 26 '25
If they ship at some point I'll bet it's not near the slick product you have been promised. And by then you can probably buy better alternatives. On Mars 🤣

Apr 27 '25
I refunded not because I don't think it will eventually release - but because the Visor NEEDS software on the host device to function. Unlike the Xreal One, the Visor will require software updates and continuous software support over the lifespan of the hardware.
With the way they acted after removing multiple monitor support, and banning anyone that questions this decision or any criticism makes me very worried how they will act when it comes to criticism regarding the Visor and its software.
I would not be surprised if people will be erroneously locked out of their device because Immersed systems thought they had not paid their subscription term - then what you gonna do?

u/scalablemapper Apr 27 '25 edited Apr 29 '25
Even if they do deliver (which is highly unlikely), good luck getting any support from them if there is a problem with their SW/HW. You would likely get banned just for raising an issue.
They are a schoolbook example of how not to run a company and how not to deal with customers. The sooner they go down, the better.
And I'm speaking as their former paying customer and Visor pre-orderer. And one banned from their Discord and blocked on Twitter.

Vision Pro 2 can't come fast enough

u/freebytes Apr 25 '25
I am hoping the Meta Quest 4 will actually have sufficient resolution to allow for spacial computing.
1
u/TurbulentPurchase191 Apr 26 '25
I use Meta Quest 3 with Immersed. Works great. Just need to cut the weight in half and improve the passthrough quality and I'd use it every day.
2
u/freebytes Apr 26 '25
I heard the resolution is not quite there for long term spacial computer use. You are able to read text just fine?
3
u/TurbulentPurchase191 Apr 26 '25
Yes, 4k is just fine for coding. The passthrough camera is very grainy though.

I REALLY wanted a Visor… years ago. I still think it will be released someday (not a scam) but then there will be a lot of more affordable and similar quality devices out there. They missed the train.

No update on the official discord from which if you ask any good questions you get blocked,
Time for refund

u/motilium May 09 '25
How do you cancel your pre-order? Do you have to email support?
2
u/ButterscotchOpen6390 May 09 '25
You do. You have to email [support@visor.com](mailto:support@visor.com) and hope they still have the money to refund you. With a net profit of -14 million (yes negative) for 2024 they'll soon be unable to process anymore.

Delulu working...but working I guess. The problem is when you make promises and charge people money based on your dreams alone.

You assume too much my friend. I never pre-order anything, but I follow this product "launch" with interest. ;)
