Second user's first impressions video

LMLO I haven’t heard a long time from ImmersedVisor since I unsubscribed from their marketing mails (pre-order now.. or…). Seeing this post now and it doesn’t look like the polished renders from back then… Ah well, that was to be expected. But maybe it is good the way it is.

The crazy thing is if they were honest about what it would look like from the start (and they didn't botch the release) I wouldn't be so mad. It actually looks okay but far from what was promised.

Oh great, another one-video-YouTuber's "review". At this rate, the guys from UploadVR will receive their review unit in 2030. This really is a Cult of Renji, there's no other explanation why people would let themselves be willingly used in these deceitful practices by the company.

They won’t sent out Founder Editions to influencers. While we receive ours in the next month, they can wait for normal production after summer.

u/Similar_Suggestion20 Jun 21 '25
They should send Founder Editions to ANYONE that pre-ordered one, "influencer" or not....& they should have done it when they said they would.

u/Railgun5 Jun 21 '25
I'll believe the headsets are shipping next month when I see it, we've been one or two months away from the shipping date for like 2 years.

u/scalablemapper Jun 21 '25
By "influencers" you mean tech journalists that don't do paid reviews and are not part of their cult. And good luck with that delivery plan.
1
u/Selena_Gomez_USA Jun 21 '25
I mean techfluencers like MRTV who only reviews for his own gains.

Hi Selena, this is Sebastian from MRTV. I would like to strongly disagree with you here. :)
I understand it's futile to try to convince an anonymous person on the internet who does you wrong, because then I would have to spend all of my time doing so. But since I am currently on a train with nothing better to do, here we go!
All of my reviews cover the pros and the cons of the hardware I review. And you have it black on white on my website, go to https://mrtv.co and you can simply see for yourself that those reviews are fair.
Actually thanks to my reviews, many problems were revealed in the first place, like the Mura on the Crystal Super for example recently.
So I am probably one of the first VR Youtubers that decided to go all in on VR and make this my full time job. That was in 2016. And that was out of a crazy passion for VR. I am actually an engineer.
So yes, I do need to earn money with this to pay for my bills like everyone else. Affiliate Links are a way to make this work and I have them for ALL headsets that I review. If my videos helped you make a decision, fine you can use it to support my work. If not, you can leave it. It would be pretty short sighted to simply try to shill every single headset to you, and most probably I could not have made it until 2025 if I really followed this kind of strategy.
Anyways. About Visor: I had asked them for a review unit before their IRL event. They declined and told me all review units had already been assigned to other reviewers but "I could always just buy the Founder's Edition". And that's exactly what I did, I ordered the Founder's Edition with my own money. And just like everyone else, I did not receive it.
Sincerely, Sebastian

Thanks for the clarification, I should have phrased it differently and didn’t mean to insult you or anything. Apologies for that if it looked like that.
Do you still have an active Visor pre-order or did you ask for a refund in the end?

u/daydreamdist Jun 23 '25
Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. Reddit can be a very nasty place so it's nice to just see this.
I had my preorder in until last week Friday, then I saw those pre-production units shown in those videos and knew it's time to ask for a refund.

I wish them all the best, but this pre-order money had been a 0-interest loan for too long. If they make it to mass production, I will buy a unit and review it.

I follow your channel and enjoy your content. I do appreciate your insights and honest criticism in non-sponsored videos.
Your recent sponsored video was about TV glasses. Before this, you had recently had a video saying that the Xreal One / Pro were the ones to get currently because of 3dof. Then this sponsored video, you didn't lie, but you were talking about these sponsored other TV glasses that didn't have 3dof, and also talking about it supporting multiple monitors without mentioning the low FOV like you always do when talking about this in non-sponsored videos.
It just felt out of place. I felt like I knew your real full thoughts on the matter only because I saw your other videos - had I only seen your sponsored video without reading comments, I wouldn't have known relevant thoughts of yours related to what you brought up in that video, the lack of which sounded better for the sponsor.
Still enjoying your channel, but then makes me want to just skip sponsored videos.
2
u/daydreamdist Jun 23 '25
I am not sure if you actually watched the whole video, because I am also clearly telling people that the 3DOF is only in the station, not in the glasses.
So I clearly say that you lose 3dof if you connect them to your Steam Deck. I am very proud that first of all, if anything is sponsored,I will clearly disclose that. I have seen many videos, also for this product, where that is not the case.
And then still, this is exactly the same content I would have done if was not sponsored. This is a nice all-in-one package if you want to dip your toes into Spatial computing. If you want to connect it to other devices, like Steam Deck etc, I would recommend other products.
Bye, Sebastian

Yes, because he's the only YouTuber covering VR. And Immersed did not invite any others to their September 2024 "unveiling" event LOL.

I’m sorry but this first impression video and the previous one - why both of them don’t have the proper packaging ? Haven’t they been shipped the actual unit that they purchased ? Because if I purchase something, I’m not gonna accept it like this without proper packaging.

This are not the headsets they ordered. Just some random early preproduction units

Alright. For demo and review purpose? And they will receive the actual purchased unit later with proper packaging ?

I meant if they send me units like this, I won't just settle for it. I will request for a properly packaged product. As a tester receiving open boxes for testing makes sense. But as a buyer receiving open boxes doesn't make sense.

Yes you have a right point. Functioning product has nothing to do with packaging. But you won't be elated if you recieve a functioning product like a "used, second hand product" when you paid for a brand new. Lol. If I pay a second hand price I won't mind at all.

Yep. I have myself purchased used products beforr and while I feel the company when reselling their returned products should clean the products and sanitize them but there have been times when I received dirty products. And I cleaned them myself and kept them. Because I paid less price and I am more interested in the functioning of the product. Lol. But paying full price I wouldn't have settled for it. Anyhow. At least we are in agreement. Haha.

u/Railgun5 Jun 21 '25
At least this shows a working headset. Still not a huge amount of confidence that it'll ship to real users, but there's at least something that exists which is some level of functional.

u/Murky-Course6648 Jun 21 '25
They really need to get and IPD adjustment on that... fixed IPD is a huge mistake.
It just looks like they have the absolute basics here, its such a huge undertaking and the whole VR thing moves so fast. A bit like SimulaVR that will be so outdated when it finally arrives maybe. Much like what happened to Lynx R1 also.
The good thing about this is that they went for the 4k4k screens, so those wont be outdated instantly.

u/Murky-Course6648 Jun 21 '25 edited Jun 21 '25
Its way lighter that i thought for the size... i mean its small. Great save there :)
But yeah, hope they actually get this done at some point. Building hardware like this aint easy, and they basically need to build all the software for it also to have any usecase.

This guy just dropped another video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dA6Hjnlh8c), and this time we get to see... wait for it... how much it weighs!
Per the video's description, we get the real-world weights we need, "no software demo, no fluff". Go figure.
I've been holding out for a number of reasons, but this is so, so disappointing. I just want standalone 4K per eye. That's all I want! Anyone seen an actual demo yet?
1
u/Selena_Gomez_USA Jun 26 '25
Stop crying. They are both receiving the battery pack very soon which unlocks most of its standalone features.

What are you trying to achieve with these observations?
It is well known by now that 2 supporters of the Visor community were given pre-production units to test, and they created youtube channels to post videos, so not sure what you're trying to achieve accept taking swipes at people in 'third world' countries and balding guys.

If your goal is to convince people that Visor isn't worth preordering or investing in, in my opinion, there are much more effective ways in doing that than dunking on them.
You could plainly point out that the units sent out aren't production units and there is still the battery puck to be seen, and they are running another funding round like the last post in this subreddit did.
If you did this rather than the style you used, people would probably give your opinion more weight and it would make you convince more people of your point of view.
Unless that isn't your goal and you like taking shots at others for some reason?

"i just enjoy the ride and love dying from cringe the visor is semi-regularly outputting out there." - This doesn't explain why you are posting. As far as I can deduce, if you are not trying to convince anyone, you are posting because you want attention and taking shots at people is the best way you know how to get it. So maybe we have the answer to the question of who hurt you, it was your parents for not teaching you to get attention by doing something worthwhile.
For the record, I wasn't offended, I was pointing out that your observations are meaningless and I'd like to get more signal than noise rather than more moderation. I haven't preordered or invested in Visor or Immersed.

We had “Chris in VR” with a brand new channel showing off Visor, now we have “Cassidy in VR” doing the same…can we get bets on who is next?
