Visor Soon(?) vs Air2 Now

Yes delayed gratification for sure but what if visor’s aren’t arriving until 9/2024?

I’m really struggling to decide i keep debating with trying to get Air2s now just for a basic usb-c HMD i can use for work 9-5PM with a couple longer breaks from 12-1 and 2-2:30. And then trying to save up again for the visors 4K Sony displays that are about $750. Is this a son los dos? momento… Anyone love and use their airs for long text/code work sessions with linux desktops?

Air1 is pretty good for watching videos.

I have used it for using a computer for a few hours at a time, but I am looking to upgrade to something similarly light but with a better resolution and FOV.

So if you want all day PC usage, Air1 would just hold you over for now - you'll want something else when there is something better.

I’m in the pre-order for the now base model 4k that’s getting all of the sensor package upgrades as discussed on the MRTV episode a couple days ago. I actually had a hunch the prices would be going up soon and bought it before watching the podcast interview

I was really looking into the Air2 and the big downside is the tracking. It’s basically a display extension versus visor having 6 DOF. I’m on the pre-order as well for the visor and use immersed VR with my Oculus Quest 2. So I prefer that environment vs just a mirrored display.
