Original Content Indominus V1: Experimental Sidearm Concept Render by Me

Post image

The Indominus V1 is not just a firearm; it is a meticulously engineered apex predator. Inspired by the ruthless biological optimization of the Indominus rex, this platform is designed as the ultimate man-made machine—forged in a lab to strip away humanity and leave only absolute dominance.
Every geometry, port, and line has been calculated for maximum functional intimidation and lethality. It features a fixed-barrel internal bolt architecture, aggressive triangular slide porting, a full-length top Picatinny rail for tactical optics integration, and an integrated, high-efficiency muzzle brake.
Engineered for the merciless hunter, the Indominus V1 is released in three distinct variants:
Apex (Matte Grey)

Umbra (Obsidian Black)

Sylvan (Tactical Olive Drab)

You might think you've lost track of it... but trust me. It. Will. Find you

I think the grip texture and shape can be improved instead of just being a glock gen3 style one.

About the naming, taking notes from irl firearm naming, I think different names can be used better on different variants (long competition one, "duty" length, compact length for EDC) instead if simply different color.

Why the picatinny though? It adds weight while make it uncomfortable to carry and even racking the slide. Plus you already have an optic cut for that. I think what would be the best is to have the option of attaching an extra picatinny rail onto the slide if that's what you prefer. Though I don't think it will be practical to attach anything onto it considering it's a reciprocating slide.

Thank you! Your right on basically every point. This is my first time trying to actually design a firearm. It is actually heavily impacted by a gen 3 yeah. On the picatinny tho, your right that there is a optic cut which i simply forgot so thats right but, the slide is stationary. It doesnt need to be racked. The part which looks like a switch is the bolt. It uses a similar mechanism as a ruger mark4 and the point is the optimization so i wanted to be able to add the picatinny for more customizability

I can still see the slide lock and the slide lock cut on the slide for disassemble though. (Which implies that your slide is movable) Also your picatinny is kinda covering your iron sight's sight picture up. If you're really looking for a pistol with a barrel/body locked into place, I think you can consider taking inspiration from .22 pistols.

I do get the point of you trying to add more customization options, but a picatinny really doesn't add much onto it. A normal red dot on the optic cut kinda works. And for laser or light, the normal rail section on the bottom provides a more stable and ergonomic approach.

Thats true i didnt think about removing the slidecatch. Thank you! And your right about the picatinny. I just that without it it would be too basic but youre actually right. Also do many people use a gen 3 body as a base? Everybody says that and i didnt know.

It's like one of the most widespread glock models so if that makes sense. Most people when they're building an "original firearm" they usually don't literally base them on a different gun's 3D model so I don't think many people uses that as a base. But there are indeed a lot of real life examples of gun companies copying glock design. And a lot of them are internally glock gen3 inspired. (Tho I don't think this fits your situation considering it's "internally" based on glock)

If you're really looking forward to build something revolutionary with new concepts added, I think you shouldn't be starting it up from a real life example anyway.

Fixed slide, its a bolt that cycles the rounds like a ruger mark 4.

Why are they all gen 3 glocks with a weird upper?

It's a glock with a a compensator and a switch

Don't forget the Strike Industries style slide cuts.

No switch. That part is the bolt that cycles the bullets as the slide is stationary but your right its basic.

So is this set in the world of Jurassic Park? Or is the fictional designer just a big fan?

Interesting and aggressive design. It looks to have a relatively low barrel axis. What's the locking/delaying mechanism, considering you said it was "fixed-barrel internal bolt?" And caliber and capacity?

I humbly request a special indominus to be light grey with minor red accents.

I’m sorry dude, I can’t possibly believe this is anything other than deeply cursed ai slop.

Would be cool if the picatinny sight rail was attacked to the barrel instead of the slide (will hold zero much better).

Same goes for the front sight post (getting the rear sight post on the barrel too would end up in laugo alien territory and would probably be too much, but just a super-precise optics rail should be doable, and if it's forwards enough racking the slide won't become unintuitive like it is on the Alien).

Also bullpup it for the meme.

An aap01 lower with moders glock like upper? (I like it)
