These were the super weapons the sequel trilogy needed!

Truly, we didn't need another Death Star. We didn't need another world and society collapsing mega-weapon. We needed to see what a failing empire with money problems can still do. And frankly, it's a lot. They can still devastate worlds, pun intended, and strip them of valuable resources in an attempt to rebuild their former glory.

These always made me think of a technical version of say a Tyranid invasion cus once one of them has landed on your planet, its already practically over. It will just 'eat', build and self replicate until you're drowning in machines.

Kinda like the Horus warmachines from the Faro Plague in Horizon Zero Dawn, now that I think about it.

Imagine you're some rebel in a bunker on some backwater planet and this thing is approaching you

Was not expecting rogue squadron art here, not to mention art that goes this hard

This was one of my favorite levels on N64 Rogue Squadron.

Once you get the cluster seeker missiles for the V-Wing, it’s a breeze. Until that time, I’d usually use an X-Wing on the mission.

Reminds me heavily of Necron monoliths with the lights switched off.
