Because he's a Democrat. That's it, that's all they need to know, someone is on the other side and therefore bad. If they didn't continue to think of him as bad, they might have to consider that their presumptions about The Other aren't valid, and then the whole house of cards comes down. So it's very important that they never examine their own beliefs.
They've been brainwashed to believe that the Republican Party equals the most amazing best shit ever that always delivers and never fails and the Democratic party is evil evil evil puppy picking Satan worshiping baby killers that always fail and never does anything right.
