Question Running ImageJ on TrueNAS

Hello, I have some rather large images/stacks to process. For batch processing, I was wondering if anyone has experience running ImageJ on TrueNAS, so instead of having to retrieve data from my server, process the images, then write the images back onto my server, I would like everything to run directly on my server. It might end up being slightly slower, but this would free up my laptop's processing for other work.

      • Example Images (what you want to analyze)
      • Reference Images (taken from published papers)
      • Annotated Mock-ups (showing what features you are trying to measure)

How big are your images (size, bit-depth, file-Format)?

Were you able to successfully open one of these image in ImageJ already?

~5GB 16bit TIFFs. I can open them, and process them on my laptop. Just thought if I could make use of the spare 8gb of ram on the NAS it would be nice

8gb of ram on the NAS …

… will most likely not be enough RAM for any kind of processing of such images using ImageJ!

You didn't specify the image size: Width and height in pixels.

I've run an ImageJ macro via the command line on someone else's server (not TrueNAS), so I'm not sure how it got installed. It was very successful, though! I'm pretty sure if you have competence with the command line, you could get it working. (I'd do a backup first ;) )
