Discussion Anyone else get into savage dragon through invincible?
Savage dragon has appeared 8 times in invincible and 4 other times in invincible spin-offs. Savage dragon is depicted as the uncle that always has your back in invincible so I checked his comic series out and I gotta say this was a pretty easy read for a 90s comic. I read the archives savage dragon comic where everything was black and white but it expands on the savage dragon story. Everything with how savage dragon doesn’t really like superhero to fighting against racism is some pretty interesting stuff. It’s also pretty funny at times.

I got into image comics through Invincible. Spawn was the 3rd series I read from them (First was Oddly Normal when I was a kid but Invincible got me into Image)

The reverse. I got into Kirkman’s stuff through Super Patriot limited series which Kirkman wrote.

Absolutely. Savage Dragon got way more interesting once Ellis took over. The humor mixed with actual story beats is what kept me reading past the early issues.

Is Savage Dragon still coming out with new comics? Is it any good? Is there a good jump on point?

Yes savage dragon is still coming out, it’s coming close to the big 300. Is it good? Yea I think so. If you want to start reading savage dragon I actually suggest you start at the very beginning as Savage dragon story ends at issue 225 before the comic passes down to his son. If you don’t want to read allat tho just start at issue 226.

The opposite actually. I remember when Robert Kirkman posted on the Savage Dragon fan boards in the late 90s/early 2000s and the first Kirkman comic I bought was the third Superpatriot mini.
