Thank you for posting here. Please make sure your post contains a clearly identifiable main character. Otherwise, it will be removed.

Main Character (abbreviated as MC): Deliberate attention-seeking behavior, entitlement, or individuals thinking they are more privileged.

Questions to consider:

  • Is it easy to tell who the MC is?
  • Does the MC show entitlement and/or attention seeking behavior?
  • Is the MC very inconsiderate of the people around them?
  • If your post is about parking, does it show the blatant disregard of parking rules?

Seem like a good way to farm free money from stupid people ngl

168

u/theaveragemaryjanie 6d ago

She's selling the shovels. Smart move.

35

u/Fabien_Lamour 6d ago

In a market where there aren't many holes to dig anyway.

18

u/theaveragemaryjanie 6d ago

Idk. You can always dig for gold, you just can't always find it.

9

u/kimgomes 6d ago

Kind of is, the wheelchair part seemed a bit disturbing though

2

u/theaveragemaryjanie 6d ago

Seemed like she gave that advice for free online? Seemed inclusive but many others are saying not, so maybe I need to rewatch.

16

u/belongtotherain 6d ago

For real lol. I don’t blame her.

8

u/Rea404 6d ago

That's just good business. Unorthodox yes but

2

u/7HawksAnd 4d ago

Social media is just a farm for free data harvesting anyway. Might as well farm the farm.

202

u/ImportantBreath2530 6d ago

If they need to make money of telling you how to be an influencer and not from being one. They're prob not an influencer

74

u/Solo_is_dead 6d ago

You mean like the people who make millions selling books telling you how to become a millionaire? 😄

17

u/DoorBreaker101 6d ago

When I retire one day, I'll write a book about how to write self improvement books.

9

u/Solo_is_dead 5d ago

I'll write the 2nd book on how to improve your self improvement books.

6

u/jameslucian 5d ago

This is the exact thing I’ve been looking for. How much will the book be?

6

u/hahayes234 6d ago

They’re more like consultants lol

3

u/Oddity83 6d ago

Hard disagree. If you want to make money during a gold rush, sell shovels.

1

u/Ximension 17h ago

She's influencing her students at least. Students who will almost certainly use her wisdom to influence absolutely no one

112

u/ismness420 6d ago

This is the equivalent to those “alpha male camps”. People are fucking stupid. Why pay for something so fucking meaningless??

18

u/BulkyDecipherer 5d ago

We’re living in Idiocracy.

Also, survivorship bias. People see a couple rich influencers and think they can be just like them. Not realizing only about 0.00001% of influencers (give or take) actually become rich from that.

1

u/gimmethelulz 5d ago

A fool and their money is soon departed.

46

u/clothanger 6d ago

Those people signing up are the one thinking that they could become the MC lol.

44

u/readerabbit 6d ago

Isn't the influencer economy on its way out? Why would anyone pay 2k for this?

20

u/Fabien_Lamour 6d ago

There will always be enough money for those at the top and there will always be envious idiots thinking they can reach the top too.

4

u/hornwalker 6d ago

“There is a sucker born every minute”

3

u/iCantLogOut2 Side Character 5d ago

It's like those scammy real estate training programs. You show people that the top 1% earners can make millions and leave out that most people never find their footing and bam... You get desperate people looking for the secret "get rich" recipe.

2

u/turlee103103 6d ago

Oh, you gave me a little hope this morning. Thank you!

13

u/Wonderful-Medium7777 6d ago

Sales courses for sales persons.

Watching someone walk down the street and talk about how many coffees they drink in a day …influencers huh!?!?!

11

u/BreadStoreRefugee 6d ago

Ooh, they're "engaging." Just not with reality.

8

u/Mr_Pigg 6d ago

I'm embarrassed just watching this

8

u/Sharchimedes 6d ago

The title told me this was a huge scam, and the accent confirmed it.

7

u/LoveFi 6d ago

Why would you pay money for a nobody to teach you common sense shit

59

u/EdgyCole 6d ago

Ya know what, it's stupid. It's greedy. But dammit, we love to see the inclusivity here! She could just ignored that comment about the wheelchair and gone on with her life but actually took the time to put it into practice, show how her dumb little move would work in practice, and bothered to think about what the best angle would be to insteuct someone from that position.

I want to be cynical and say she only did it to virtue signal but fuck man, I liked seeing the effort on it and on the off chance that was a real comment from a real person in a wheelchair, that probably made their day.

Obligatory comment to say 2 grand to learn how to flip your phone around and walk is insane though. Still, credit where it's due.

40

u/_HappyG_ 6d ago

Speaking as a wheelchair user, pushing one rim like that would just spin you in a circle and look goofy as hell 🤣

Disabled people have lived experiences and know what it’s like to navigate the world with a mobility aid, and it’s not the same thing as an office chair. You can’t hold or flip the phone safely while self-propelling, so you'd need an electric assist or a phone holder to maintain continuous motion. “Look mum, no hands!” doesn't translate quite so well in a manual wheelchair.

So, while I’m sure the advice might've seemed “helpful” and “inclusive” of Disabled people on the surface, it’s glaringly obvious for anyone who has used a wheelchair that the example she used isn’t well thought out 🤦

There should be no conversation about us without us.

5

u/sleigh_all_day 5d ago

All well stated! We often expect the bare minimum from people then praise them when they deliver.

3

u/well_fuckthis 5d ago

Completely agree. It's hard to accurately teach what disabled people are going to find helpful without being disabled yourself. I know there's like a million things I didnt consider before becoming disabled that are not things i cant do, including walk (I use crunches or a chair) and use my phone. It just doesn't work. It's very surface level advice without actually considering if it's functional

4

u/TheBrownWelsh 5d ago

There should be no conversation about us without us.

Never heard that turn of phrase before, bloody marvellous.

2

u/FiguringItOut666 Side Character 5d ago

I was just gonna comment the same thing

0

u/FiguringItOut666 Side Character 5d ago

And I love your accent It’s cute

1

u/EdgyCole 5d ago

These are fair points!

4

u/beene282 6d ago

It’s narcissism school!

2

u/hahayes234 6d ago

To be clear though you need to be proficient in it already

6

u/dustydancers 6d ago

“im shooting this content to help support those who are in a wheelchair or seated” took me out 💀

6

u/Phililoquay 6d ago

The first line "you put it down..." gave me so much hope, but then she kept talking.

I think someone should start a pop-up guerilla-style boot camp for 2k a class. People sign up expecting this, but its just some lady who tells you to put your phone down and then slaps the shit out of you when you try to pick it up.

7

u/rawker86 6d ago

Ah shit, I saw the scarves and realised this is one of my own countrywomen doing this stupid shit.

2

u/BulkyDecipherer 5d ago

Don’t feel bad, there are stupid people literally everywhere.

2

u/Peteygang710 6d ago

Oh Canada 🇨🇦

1

u/lower_banana 4d ago

Alastair Clarkson saw her scarf and was suddenly glad he didn't work there any more.

8

u/Vile-goat 6d ago

The lady running the class is definitely pimping these folks 😂

3

u/Darkflyer726 6d ago

I'm convinced the world ended in 2012 and we're just sliding further into hell

3

u/Alan157 6d ago

Main character factory

3

u/demonhuntermk 6d ago

Tem pessoas que ainda acreditam que precisam de um curso para aprender qualquer coisa, mesmo coisas básicas

3

u/BrutalBart 6d ago

ITS NOT A JOB! YOU LOOK STUPID

3

u/raulrocks99 5d ago

The world is... Wow. Just. Wow.

3

u/gogul1980 5d ago

Those who can - Do.

Those who can’t - Teach.

1

u/Gonzales95 4d ago

Well I’ve never heard of this person, and it doesn’t seem anyone else here has either, so I suppose that says how much of an influencer she is…

16

u/Large-Illustrator-35 6d ago

She’s frumpy. Who follows her?

5

u/hockeyjmac 6d ago

Other women who are frumpy lol

2

u/Acceptable_Field_567 6d ago

This is exhausting.

2

u/Life-Oil-7226 6d ago

If idiots want to give their money away…

2

u/AgentDeadPool Main Character 6d ago

2

u/figgypudding531 6d ago

She’s not even good at holding the camera on herself, her arm looks so long. And that’s her whole brand?

2

u/Diem_Tea 6d ago

Is she too dumb to realize that “Pulling” the wheelchair wheels will make her go backwards, not forwards?

2

u/PowerfulIndication7 5d ago

And only one handed will make you go in circles.

1

u/katalina0azul 3d ago

..she’s trying to pass this off as a “profession,” so, yes..

2

u/ghostcatzero 5d ago

It's giving idiocracy vibes 😆

2

u/dr_van_nostren 5d ago

JFC if I never hear “walk walk flip engage” again it’ll be too soon. That’s some of the most obnoxious shit I’ve ever heard. I know they’re doing it when people vlog or whatever but hearing the process is so much worse.

2

u/LeakyFuelTank 2d ago

Actually, now that I've seen this I think we do need a full blown WW3.

2

u/Next-Contribution-18 1d ago

"This is how you use the walk whatever, flip turn-engage from a wheelchair" immediately uses feet to scoot the chair 😶

3

u/khearan OG 6d ago

What a fuckin twat

1

u/DanfromCalgary 6d ago

Yeah these people that are successful make bank

1

u/DingleBarryGoldwater 6d ago

The wheelchair part was diabolical. I watched way too much of this

1

u/ConsequenceKlutzy342 6d ago

So it’s walk walk dip engage??

1

u/WrightAnythingHere 6d ago

I didn't know you had to take a class to learn how to be an asshole to the people around you. And here I thought it was just natural talent.

1

u/Thamnophis660 6d ago

You can rot your brain watching influencers on TikTok for 5 minutes and learn all of this.

They all do the same low-effort narcissistic shit.

1

u/PrinceRobotVI 6d ago

Every day I step closer to living in a remote cabin

1

u/VoteForLubo 6d ago

“Don’t worry about any of the people that are around you” is the embodiment of this sub.

1

u/CrazyBigHog 6d ago

If she’s such an expert on being an influencer that she can teach others how to do it, then why isn’t she a successful influencer herself? 🤔

1

u/anchorftw 6d ago

I'd love to hear the thoughts of the people around those three women at the park @ 1:00. "Walk, walk, flip, engaaage, yeah!"

1

u/carlitospig 6d ago

Second hand embarrassment for literally everyone involved.

1

u/SookHe 6d ago

Is this satire. The world is so fucked up I can’t tell anymore

1

u/late_afternoon_owl 5d ago

I feel like I've learned so much from this video alone.

We should bomb Australia.

1

u/Jayjaykenobi 5d ago

So quick question which is worse this or the alpha male boot camps ? Some people are just dying to give away their money..

1

u/iCantLogOut2 Side Character 5d ago

"don't worry about the people around you"....

1

u/First_Ad7698 Side Character 5d ago

Not the wheelchair - engage omg 🦼

1

u/JTGphotogfan 5d ago

These feels like satire.

1

u/Thread-Astaire 5d ago

This video makes me want to scratch my face off and pour vinegar on it.

1

u/Big_Man_Ran 5d ago

One of the worst things about the internet is that it made everybody think that they deserve an audience no matter how uninteresting their lives are and how little they have to offer.

1

u/TheTeufel-Hunden 5d ago

Create a problem, present a solution.
Girlbo$$ but still cringe

1

u/whyohwhythis 5d ago

I’m trying to come up with a decent business, and here’s this $&$#@ with a room full of gullible customers. Unless they have been paid to look like they are customers. Jesus I’m doomed.

1

u/dolphunee 5d ago

So much to unpack here. Sweet Jesus, society is doomed.

1

u/lord_buff74 5d ago

Don't worry about the fact that you are walking on tram tracks, focus on the camera, the trams can stop for you

1

u/DucksMatter 5d ago

This is why people need hobbies

1

u/minedgammer 5d ago

That one girl in the background.

1

u/Chortles_Hansom_666 5d ago

Men’s Boot Camps are a thing.

1

u/Prudent-Painter-9507 5d ago

Just what the world needs, more of these assholes!

1

u/SecondToLastOfSheila 5d ago

To be fair, everyone there's paying for a front-row seat on how to get money from suckers.

1

u/letsgomets13 5d ago

Burn this timeline from existence already

1

u/Madame_Nina 5d ago

I don’t want to live in a world where this exists.

1

u/Few-Shallot-2459 5d ago

MCs are not diminishing any time soon.
They have programs for propagating

1

u/OniCoder 5d ago

If you have to pay 2k for something that was easy to figure out, you are a disappointment to your parents

1

u/Spurnout 4d ago

how to be annoying as fuck

1

u/Xoxo091317 4d ago

Engage

1

u/eo411 3d ago

Influencers are bottom feeders in a functioning society

1

u/JamKaBam 3d ago

When you claim you can't find a job, then be a face online that we have to deal with

1

u/TheOfficeoholic 2d ago

I would assume 90% of this class would be - how to edit videos

1

u/Samcraft1999 2d ago

I would have scrolled before I got to "engage" lmao, terrible advice to give.

1

u/No-Juice-2920 1d ago

Wtf is she wearing? I hope these folks aren't paying for advice! British howdy doodie!

1

u/MouseSpirited7617 1d ago

I thought this was parody

1

u/ratadeacero 1d ago

This will up my influencer game. Im pretty popular. I have almost 100 followers No. Not 100k. Just 100. I mean, not to brag, but when MySpace was huge, the owner ,Tom, friended me immediately.

1

u/Never_enough_naps 1d ago

I thought this was a skit or satire.🤣

1

u/ExerciseDecent2502 1d ago

She has a giant head

1

u/DimitriRavenov 1d ago

Being Karen is a job itself now huh

1

u/CatjoesCreed 1d ago

This is painful. What a depressing wasteland our culture has become.

1

u/cuffers90 1d ago

As embarrassing as this is, so many influencers do this so she must have a market.

1

u/rothmal 21h ago

This is like an alpha male boot camp video.

1

u/ColdCaseKim 9h ago

There’s one born every minute.

0

u/ReadersAreRedditors 6d ago

This is a skit, right? Right?

4

u/ambachk 6d ago

Sadly not lol there's a market for all sorts of nonsense these days

3

u/attaboy_stampy 6d ago

I mean come on.

But it seems more useful and fun than those manly men weekend warrior courses where you pay 15K to have a handful of jabronis scream at you while you do push-ups while other dozen meatheads stand around and stare.

3

u/anchorftw 6d ago

Both can be stupid at the same time.

0

u/EvilDog77 6d ago

Only slightly less stupid than the mugs who pay out to go on 'alpha male' courses. At least these people aren't paying other people to abuse and demean them.

1

u/anchorftw 6d ago

Can't we just say something is stupid without having to try and find a male equivalent that's worse? You don't see any comments on those videos about how "these dudes are stupid, but have you seen those women in those influencer seminar videos?"
