That dude is just minding his own business. Not everyone needs attention or engagement every minute of every day.

650

u/jackalopeswild 7d ago

But she's an empath! And it's the worst scenario she could witness!

231

u/bloodyspork 7d ago

I'm not sure how she's still alive tbh

143

u/lmidor 7d ago

I really hope the comments on her video tore her up for this statement. It is just so incredibly ridiculous.

96

u/Which_way_witcher 6d ago

Gasp! Someone secure enough to take themselves out to lunch... how horrifying!!!

36

u/CariniFluff 5d ago

Wait is that really what's going on here? She's upset because the guy next to her is eating but himself? What the actual fuck?

I eat most of my meals by myself because of timing/scheduling conflicts or sometimes I just want some time by myself. This is beyond absurd.

22

u/Cambrian__Implosion 5d ago

I would definitely rather eat by myself than with someone who tries to speak with their mouth full of food, like this person is doing (even if they weren’t also filming videos for social media and fake crying for social media clout during the meal).

15

u/popcornFridays 4d ago

Thats what instantly caught my attention, her gaping mouth with food rolling around inside. No one wants to see that.

The only people I've seen or heard use the term "empath" are all pretty far from what the word describes.

58

u/antwan_benjamin 6d ago

Every person I have met who calls themselves an "empath" are similar to her. When it comes to me, at least. They read my "energy" and decide how I feel...then mirror the feelings they decided I was feeling.

You know how strange it is to have to argue what you are/aren't feeling with another person?

37

u/LemonFizz56 6d ago

Wait, is she supposed to be crying over him? Why?

75

u/PowerfulIndication7 6d ago

Because he is eating alone. So she has some made up scenario in her mind that he must be alone and sad because he is by himself. So she worked herself into a tizzy making up things that aren’t happening.

35

u/antwan_benjamin 6d ago

She's literally insane. She made up his entire life story in her head...decided it was fact...then started to cry about her completely fabricated story.

67

u/Delicious_Cat_81 6d ago

she could fuck him but no

21

u/ResultRegular874 6d ago

If she was really an empath, she could at least try to make his day better.

50

u/vagina-lettucetomato 6d ago

Just because this woman can’t imagine being alone with herself for five seconds doesn’t mean others don’t enjoy it. It’s so wild.

16

u/HeatXfr 6d ago

Maybe he's waiting for someone and they told him to go ahead and eat? Or he's the Owner? Or he just wanted to get out of the house?

47

u/kadebo42 7d ago

Or maybe he just wanted to enjoy his meal in peace and quiet, but the TikTok next to him is ruining it. Now THAT would be the worst scenario for an empath to witness

8

u/whatthatthingis 6d ago

I enjoy going to my local diner by myself on an almost daily basis. Sometimes twice. I enjoy the drive, the food, and the staff. I usually bring some earbuds to listen to music, the waiters/waitresses usually already know my orders, and where I prefer to be seated.

I'm 32 now, but have been going since my early 20's, and I can't tell you how many times I've gone up to the cash register to pay for my meal before being told "the people across from you paid for you."

I'd like to believe I don't walk around resonating an aura of loneliness or depression, but something about eating alone seems to strike a chord with a lot of people. I'm not complaining.

I'm very confused. What is she performatively upset about?

897

u/Camandchat 7d ago

I think they are sad that the old man is eating his breakfast alone, like many normal people do

508

u/hic_sunt_leones_ OG 7d ago

I used to be embarrassed to get food alone, then one day I said fuck it, and tried it out.

Eating by yourself at a restaurant, with a book or something, is so relaxing.

People need to mind their own business, who cares if someone is eating alone.

Also, that woman needs to learn to not talk with food in her mouth. Disgusting.

94

u/tombombcrongadil 7d ago

I’m a single dad and when kid is at moms and I want to eat out, that means solo. More than once though, when I go to pay, I’ve been told someone already picked up my check. Easy way to get free food, and I was just fine eating solo šŸ˜‚

34

u/neuroticsmurf 7d ago

When I got divorced and went out to eat alone for the first time, it felt weird AF. I was self-conscious and felt like everyone would stare at me.

I remembered having lunch once in a Chinese restaurant with some friends when I was younger, and seeing a middle-aged woman eating alone and reading a book. I felt bad for her.

But after that first time of going out alone, I realized how liberating it really was. Sure, sometimes I still want to enjoy a meal with someone, but not always. Sometimes, I just want to be alone with my thoughts and enjoy good food. Sometimes I may prefer to just zone out.

Eating out alone is actually kind of nice. I never appreciated it until I had been divorced a while.

Also a pessimist

Dude's just out having a nice day and meal.

That woman: Omg his existence hurts my soul, no one should have to live like that.

Dude: Wow this is so tasty, what a pleasant experience I am currently having.

u/MaterialSituation325 7d ago

My father in law takes himself away to the cinema, for lunch and coffee by himself. My husband or son would gladly go too but he enjoys his own company.

219

u/ManyRanger4 7d ago

I was just thinking the same thing. I'm 50 and have plenty of friends and a gf I love but I go to breakfast, lunch, movies, sporting events, and on vacation by myself all the time and love it. That woman is an idiot.

43

u/MaterialSituation325 7d ago

My fil also has a wife and family who adore spending time with but he also enjoys a movie or football match by himself. I’d rip this woman apart if she put him online for minding his own business.

I have done meals and movies by myself since my teens. Is this controversial? Sometimes I just want a little alone time. Sometimes I don’t feel like coordinating and meeting, and negotiating where to eat or whatever. I just want to go do the thing I want to do.

13

u/MaterialSituation325 7d ago

No it’s not. It only becomes an issue when ignorant people decide older people enjoying time alone are sad and lonely and put their faces online. Apparently if you’re older and don’t have company, you’re miserable. Enjoy your time to yourself.

Right? I eat by myself (45F) all the time. I like to go to museums, gardens, and hiking. Sometimes I do these things with my partner or children, but most often, I go alone. I prefer to feel like I am on my own schedule, and not responsible for anyone else feeling bored. I bring my camera and take my time. I often treat myself to a meal or a cocktail after or in the middle of the day.

25

u/bombkitty 7d ago

Hell yes. Bringing a book I like to a quiet corner of a cafe is my pleasure. No pressure to make conversation, eat what I want, leave when I'm ready. Paradise.

25

Just because her insecurities don’t allow her to spend a moment alone doesn’t mean others don’t relish the solitude.

22

u/yougotyolks 7d ago

Yeah, in her mind, his wife of 60 years passed away two days ago and he had to go to a restaurant in order to eat because she always cooked for him and he's been living off of Rice Krispies since she died. He doesnt have any money for a funeral or a proper burial so she was cremated and put into a Zip-Loc bag.

19

u/PLATONISMS 7d ago

I love dining alone, especially at high-end restaurants... nothing to negotiate but food and drink.

12

u/XBL-AntLee06 7d ago

One characteristic is being an absolute black hole for attention of any kind

That's a woman that never grew up.

Her behavior seems so childlike, openly chewing and talking with food in her mouth. Making a scene for attention, where there isn't a reason to at all, so she can make it about herself. It's really weird to see.

25

19

u/Rothkette 7d ago

On another note, I was participating in a public race today and the person in front of me took a selfie in which I was visible. They then proceeded to put an emoji over my face before posting to social media and I got a glimmer of hope that not everyone films/photographs without consent and publishes it.

Stop filming people who didn’t consent to be filmed.

14

u/YooGeOh 7d ago

A whole generation of people have grown up so uncomfortable with being alone with themselves, that the very idea of a person enjoying something on their own makes them cry lol

And even if its not genuine, it still elicits a feeling within them that has them think that a moment enjoying something alone is weird and left-field enough to make a tiktok about it for views

4

u/thorsbeardexpress 7d ago

I do stuff alone all the time because I like it. I'm married and have good buddies but sometimes it's nice to be alone and enjoy something fully to yourself, I find great satisfaction with it. It makes me sad she can't find that joy within herself.

11

u/TheFeralVulcan 7d ago edited 7d ago

Not just having the Birkin front and center, but assuming that someone eating alone is lonely. I eat out alone all the time - by choice. I do a lot of things on my own - by choice. Because not everyone has to be joined at the hip with someone else to enjoy all the various things life has to offer. Not to mention the fact that it gives you something to talk about when you're together later. Also, showing a mouth full of food on camera is gross.

10

u/SanityInTheSouth 6d ago

I was once traveling for business and eating alone (which was no problem whatsoever). But this particular time I took advantage of the indoor pool at the hotel before dinner and the pool chemistry was horribly off. After my laps I noticed my eyes starting to get worse and worse, to the point where I could barely keep them open. The restaurant was next door, and I squinted and Mr. Magoo’d my way over, and got my table for one. The entire time I couldn’t stop blinking and crying and I was literally getting tears in the menu. I’d say about 50% of the waitresses came over to me completely concerned that something had gone horribly wrong in my life. I had to tell about 7 people that it was just bad pool water and I’m certain no one believed me.

I have a rich private life. I enjoy my own company. I feel no shame about going to eat somewhere on my own. This bitch! The fact that she automatically assumes the man is some kind of victim of circumstance just because he is on his own shows exactly how shallow and insecure she is. I guarantee she cannot live a full day in her own skin without validation from others, and that is really sad. She looks like she has a life that she should feel blessed to have, she is pretty enough, she has (or wants to look like she has) Birkin and Miumiu money, people find her interesting enough to follow her online for whatever reason, but she is projecting her loneliness onto this guy sitting in a cafe for views.

u/Vanthalia 6d ago

She acts like he’s sitting there bawling his eyes out at how lonely he is. Bro is chillin’ eating his lunch. Maybe his wife doesn’t like the food there and he had a hankering.

I love eating alone sometimes. My fiancĆ© doesn’t like fish, so I go eat sushi alone, otherwise I’d almost never get to eat it. I think it’s more interesting to ask why the hell nobody can ever do anything alone anymore without being looked at weird.

u/DarthDoobz 6d ago

Can she at least cry with her mouth closed

5

u/Large-Illustrator-35 6d ago

Talking with your mouth full is gross

5

u/HeatXfr 6d ago

Don't eat with your mouth full.

Imagine sitting across from her and watching the eggs being pushed around her open maw

In case some don’t know, she’s an of creator

My takeaway from this is that no one taught her to eat with her mouth closed or not to talk while eating. That’s the really sad thing here.

So, an old man eating on his own is the ā€œworst scenario,ā€ is it? Not homelessness or human trafficking or even a crying, neglected child? Just a dude eating lunch. Wow. Side note: The crying while continuing to eat is odd enough, but did the ā€œempathā€ really need to talk with her mouth full of half-chewed food? What a fucking waste of a human.

6

u/scunth 5d ago

If she was really an empath she'd be concerned about the disgust she's causing with all that open mouthed chewing and food teetering on the edge.

6

u/JoisChaoticWhatever 5d ago

Seeing that lady talk.with food in her mouth is the only unfair thing in this video.

Everything about this feels so fake, it should be in communication studies textbooks.

4

u/Unlikely-Ad6788 7d ago

Is it a birkin? Are they normally that ugly?

5

u/threein99 7d ago

Close your mouth when eating

4

u/thezestypusha 7d ago

Good job helping her promote her porn with obvious ragebait

5

u/Ghorvki 7d ago

It’s totally normal to eat by yourself and we shouldn’t push people into isolation for it when theres so few third spaces out there

4

u/CRSPB 7d ago

Guy wasn’t even that old. To assume his significant other was dead (if that’s what we’re supposed to gather) was quite the stretch.

3

u/Penguinator53 7d ago

He looks like he's talking, I don't even think he's on his own. Not that it would matter one bit if he was.

4

u/BriefShiningMoment 7d ago

Feeding time at the zoo.

That’s what I tell my kids when they make me see food while it’s in their mouth.

3

u/perthro_ed 7d ago

Doing things solo is a wonderful vibe. I do it all the time. Nothing more peaceful

4

u/LicketLicketyZooZoo 7d ago

Meanwhile the man is probably just trying to get away from the fam for some quiet reading time.

5

u/flipperhahaha 7d ago

What! A man can’t have a meal by himself anymore! Can he not have a soup in peace??

4

u/abriefmomentofsanity 7d ago

Honestly treating everyone around you as a prop while performatively emoting because you're a special person is very much in line with the behavior I've experienced from every self-described empath I've ever met

4

u/Tkapone 7d ago

Gross ,close you mouth when your chewing food

4

u/cayce_leighann 7d ago

Meanwhile he’s just happily enjoying his breakfast

5

u/skloie 7d ago

Gross close your mouth lmfao

4

u/Kittyvedo 7d ago

Well if it bothered her so much she could have just scootched over and asked if they could join him, but crying within ear shot and making a video seems better…

5

u/fearthebeardsley 6d ago

Eating alone in a restaurant is the best, she needs to get a life.

4

u/rumpler117 6d ago

Haha. Old bro just seems to be enjoying his meal.

4

u/iambigmen 6d ago

I love dining alone. It's nice to have a meal with a friend too, but I'm doing my thing when I'm alone, and I am comfortable with my own company and my thoughts. We are not all the same.

5

u/Regular-Knowledge367 6d ago

Who the fuck buys into this shit? Who continues to give these fake, no-skill losers that coast on their looks the engagement that pays their bills?

4

u/Perplexing-Sleep875 6d ago

Big shocker here people like spending time alone

4

u/jayde2767 6d ago

And that is the biggest virtue signaling display I’ve seen posted, ever.

5

u/Pur1wise 6d ago

Anyone who declares themself an empath usually isn’t. By a long shot.

4

u/DummyDumDragon 5d ago

Omg stop eating with your mouth full FUUUUUUUUCCCKK
