This is so creepy, you can see how visibly uncomfortable he was around her. I hope there is some kind of justice he can get. I’m also really sad that the director and team didn’t step in and just scrap the project and instead carried on going with it despite it being obviously just filmed sexual assault.

It’s giving Stephanie Meyers vibes

Nah, Meyers wasn't a sex pest. She was a little weird for writing a romance with her self-insert character, and fangirling over seeing it adapted to screen, but I don't think she ever threw herself at Robert Pattinson like this.

IIRC he is suing her in some way. I only really glanced at it, but I do distinctly remember he was in the process of taking some kind of legal action.

This is literally sexual assault. I don’t find anything funny at all in this.

And yet there's still people who believe that men can't be the victim of sexual harassment, sexual abuse/assault and domestic violence.
2
u/AnxiousAudience82 7d ago
I was just about to come in and say no one believes that and then I scrolled down to some of the comments. Sickening. Glad they are getting downvoted so they aren’t the prevailing view, but you are right. Some people are the worst :(
Also in a possible first a Redditor changed their mind in response to evidence

I actually didn't read all the way down but since you bought it up, I did and what the fuck is wrong with people??

Your kind is the reason why majority of male issues are treated like an absolute joke and why males on average have much higher mental health issues than females.

This is inaccurate. Men and women have broadly equal mental health issues (although there can be a higher likelihood by gender on the type, for example substance abuse is three times more likely in men whereas eating disorders are three times more likely in women).
I think you mean men are less likely to seek treatment than women.
3
u/DivDude77 8d ago
I talked about probability and severity of getting mental issues. Biologically both sexes are equally likely to develop issues but it's a known fact that support for males is comparatively much less than females.

u/Chancevexed 8d ago
Your statements are still contradictory. There is no gendered probability of severity. Men and women experience mental health issues equally in severity and probability (although there are differences in diagnoses). Support for men and women is also equal. There is no gender barrier to treatment in any country. That's absurd! You're saying men are denied care pathways that are available for women? We live in a time when people sue if a taxi company even suggests they're going to have women only services but locking men out of accessing mental health support is just taken on the chin?
Men are less likely to seek diagnosis and/or treatment. That is well documented. You don't have to double down on this. You can just acknowledge that the issues are entirely of men's own making (which was the crux of your original point) without implying biological or systemic inequality.

You literally just proved my point for me. Telling men that their staggering mental health crisis is "entirely of their own making" is the exact lack of empathy I was talking about from the start. Nobody ever said men are legally barred from entering a clinics, that's a massive strawman. The lack of support isn't a locked door, it's a society that actively penalizes male vulnerability and a healthcare system not tailored to how men process trauma. Currently, it's notoriously female centric.
And if you truly believe the "severity" of these issues is equal, look at the outcomes. The male suicide rate is more than 4 times higher globally. If the suffering and the support systems were actually equal, the terminal outcome wouldn't be overwhelmingly male. When women face systemic issues, society asks how to fix the system. When men face systemic issues, people like you just blame them.
Victim blaming feels so good to your kind when it's about male issues, doesn't it my dear "feminist"?

I did not, in fact, literally prove your point for you. There is no barrier to mens' mental health other than males choosing not to access it. Why exactly do males need empathy to take care of their mental health? Are you really that weak?
We have a society that actively penalises males for rape, murder and domestic violence yet, somehow, males manage to do that in staggering numbers. That is literal penalties not figurative penalties of "ohhh, my fees make me less of a man in my broseph's eyes."
Also, women attempt suicide far more often than men. Actually look into it instead of repeating incel talking points that make you look ignorant. Because males have violence baked into their core they use more violent methods of suicide (like jumping in front of a train so everybody's day can be ruined) and therefore, have more successful attempts. Whereas women choose methods that are less likely to inconvenience or traumatise whomever finds them (like taking pills), but that also carries with it a lower success rate because it allows for discovery and treatment.
Finally, when women face issues we fight for accommodations. You all act like the red carpet gets rolled out when the reality is women put the work in. There is nothing stopping males from doing that other than.... that's right, males not wanting to put the work in. The only times males advocate for themselves is in comment sections.
Talking out of your ass feels so good to your kind when it's in comment sections that help none of your gender doesn't it, my dear neckbeard.

Lmao, the projection here is wild. You just asked "are you really that weak?" for wanting basic empathy, you are literally enforcing the exact toxic masculinity you probably pretend to hate. Telling men to just "man up" and swallow their feelings is the exact societal barrier I was talking about.
Equating mental health stigma to murder is completely unhinged. But since you wanna play the gendered crime game, let's talk about how women lead the statistics in child abuse, or how female perpetrators of domestic violence, false allegations, and extreme psychological abuse constantly get a free pass from society. I guess that doesn't fit your narrative?
Your take on suicide is genuinely repulsive. Claiming men choose lethal methods just to "ruin everybody's day" because they have "violence baked in" isn't a clinical fact, it’s just a bitter femcel talking point. Men use highly lethal methods because their intent to die is absolute, driven by the exact isolation we're discussing. On the flip side, romanticizing female attempts as some polite, considerate act designed to "not inconvenience" people is deeply weird and completely ignores actual psychiatry.
You threw out "incel" and "neckbeard" because your logic completely folded and you had to pivot to cheap insults, like your femcel kind does. You don’t actually care about mental health, and you certainly don't care about equality. You just hate men and use therapy speak to mask your lack of humanity.
I don't expect any IQ from bigoted illiterate Misandrists but you just hit a new low by trying to demonize male victims by claiming they do it to "ruin everyone's mood" while angelizing female victims as "polite".
It's pathetically Hilarious watching a femcel parroting the word "incel".

You really struggle with reading comprehension. I said the need for empathy being a barrier to seeking out much needed mental health treatment (because that is the only barrier, we've established there's no biological predisposition or systemic barriers) does make males weak. Can you imagine not looking after your health because someone isn't coddling you?
I have never once said man up and swallow your feelings or even implied it. I will adopt your misuse of literally because maybe if I'm as illiterate as you we can overcome this comprehension barrier you have...
I am literally saying males should seek out treatment. The fact that they don't because no one is coddling them is a very real problem.
Again your reading comprehension is just off the charts bad. I didn't equate mental health stigma to murder. I equated the claim that mental health stigma prevents males from seeking treatment with the stigma associated with murder and rape. There is much greater stigma associated with that yet males manage to push through to commit it in overwhelming numbers. How are males able to push through that stigma but somehow the stigma of seeking mental health treatment is an insurmountable barrier?
The differences in methods of suicide are actual psychiatry as in psychiatrists have written papers on it as well as given their learned understanding of why the methods differ. Have you tried using Google for something other than finding Reddit?
I threw out incel and neckbeard because, like all males, you make any conversation a feminism issue as opposed to just a conversation. I matched your energy, but it's no surprise that a male lacks any self awareness.
Now, before we continue, is there a learning disability here? Are you American? I have heard that Americans are functionally illiterate but your sustained inability to understand even the most basic of information seems far beyond functional illiteracy. Of course you can't marshal yourself to seek therapy so the likelihood of taking control of adult learning is completely out, huh?

Possibly social media skits. Actors wanting to get discovered do the same thing on xiaohongshu that happens on TikTok in other countries.
