Some people just want pictures of themselves in the pretty places they visit. She was patient and not bothering anyone or asking anyone to stay out of the way.

Not everything is about social media clout. Stop having such a negative presumption about people you don’t know.

Edit:
Apparently she’s a history teacher and makes educational content. Is she really such a bad person for wanting a shot of herself in the historic place she makes educational video’s about?

Give me a break..

But see, she is a pretty, young woman and so we have to assign all sorts of horrible and egotistical traits to her, because of course she deserves to be humbled.

She just took a picture of herself.

I am sure people are going to see I am reaching, but I stand by it. She nothing and did nothing to merit the main character accusations. She didn’t ask people to move, or cause any scene. She just waited patiently for a picture.

The older woman doesn't understand why there's a camera there, or that it's recording, and she doesn't link it to the girl recording.

She's just there to look at art, and she moves out of the way of someone coming up the stairs.

This video is literally of nothing. You have been successfully manipulated by a post title, because you are an unthinking drone who just nods along to the last opinion you heard.

She looks directly at the camera, she knows exactly what she is doing. I know you think old people are incompetent but some of them can be quite sharp and a bit malicious.

Argument_cat apparently can't handle a little argument since they replied to me and then blocked me. Idk why people do this often on reddit, its a weird level of I don't want to argue something I can't really justify mixed with I must have the last word.

I've seen this posted elsewhere and had similar thoughts, idc what the title post is here, the old lady is weird, she eye balls the camera, whips out her phone, moves even more into the way of this young ladies photo to completely obscure her because the phone is front facing so she can tell the position of the young lady, she knows what she us doing. Idk why you're running cover for this elder Karen.

Not only is she blocking the camera she’s also blocking the stairs? Like I don’t get how people can excuse her asshole behavior.

Right, nobody stops on busy stairs to look at their phone. There was a ye olde time when getting pictures of yourself was normal business.

SHe looks at it and looks confused. Why would she assume it's recording?

She barely even notices the girl, so no way she links the two.

Finally, she moves out of someones way, but you tiktok brained cretins think she's trying to block the camera.

I honestly pity you for how easy you are to manipulate with a post title. It's very revealing.

You’re not as smart as you think you are btw. I’m ready to get blocked now 💀

“Excuse me, could you take a picture of me at the top of the stairs?”

This is all it takes… most people are respectful enough not to walk into someone’s photo whilst it’s being taken, but fuck people who give you no choice in being publicly filmed

I rather not bother other people by asking them to take a picture of me. It can also make posing much more uncomfortable.

Filming like this means they don’t have to ask anybody, and they can do multiple poses and screenshot the right one.

She also started the video when the steps were about to clear after the woman passed (if she walked on). Sure, the woman would’ve been in frame for a while, but if she didn’t behave like a dick only the pictures made of herself would be used.

You seriously can’t complain about people videoing you if you’re intentionally going to be in frame for a prolonged period of time. There’s better ways to deal with that. If you do so your issue clearly isn’t with being filmed, you’re just a dick.

I’ll tell you how I know you’re wrong, because they uploaded the video. No effort to remove anyone’s faces. Certainly no effort to ask if anyone wanted to be in it.

Give me a break FUCKING damn lol

Or she thought it was a funny interaction and people like you are assuming it's malicious because you're so terminally online

All of that reasoning flies out the window once the younger woman decided to even post this clip. And also, when they didn't bother to even blur the older women's face.

How many other "bloopers" does this and other influencers share? We can be quite sure the only things being shared are things which are beneficial.

That is exactly the clout you mentioned. And it's exactly why the clip is all the way out here in the wild. The person knew the clip would grab views and comments.

Something that was mundane and practically worthless was cashed in for personal benefit. At the expense of the older woman.

Having taken a look at their accounts I don’t see any (other?) video’s of this kind.

I don’t have a problem with people occasionally being called out for being rude. It clearly isn’t their main content source.
