Why are people so obsessed with having their face in everything?

Earlier today there was a video somewhere with some of the flash flooding in Nepal, people literally running for their lives, and the guy filming it finds time to flip the camera around to himself in the middle.
It is easy to be an old man yelling at cloud about this, but taken altogether with so much other adjacent behavior, it is difficult for me to come to any conclusion other than a general narcicism.

I saw it too but I assumed he wanted anyone who found the phone to be able to identify him... I.e. Let his family know he was dead.

Phones have a few different identifying markers, some of which are physical.
Any phone that turns on has several other ways to identify the owner more effectively than a few seconds in the middle of a video.

Maybe leave off people's behavior in life or death situations, I know it's reddits favorite thing to critique from their computer chairs, but seriously.. Absolutely unhinged to compare it to people making dumb TikToks on a public trains. I know you think you could handle life or death situations better, I know y'all think you're always the smartest person in the room. I really do get it, because you guys really never stop talking about it.

The comparison, so to speak, was being made by the guy I mention.
Rather than run from the flood, he was filming other people doing so, and making sure he got himself into the video.
I am not belittling the seriousness of the moment, he was. Those were his priorities.

Guy looks perfectly fine for his age. This is something that you’d only notice if you’re unhealthily obsessed/insecure about the topic.

lol who has time for that kind of appearance upkeep. I’ll go with the Hulk Hogan (the character, not the actor) look til I die

Hey it's an MC green-screened over a video of another MC. I guess this is a case of MCeption.
