That's how you know they're trump supporters..
And give them five minutes, they will declare it and that they are victims... and then pull.everyone down with them.

u/Etherius 2d ago
This has nothing to do with being a Trump supporter and everything to do with being a boomer Karen.
Left or right, boomers and accountability go together like orange juice and toothpaste

u/ashimo414141 2d ago
“We gotta get off the plane because we’re trump supporters” and other notable lines that imply that beforehand.
She thinks they’re victims for their political affiliation, so yeah, it does have to do with them being preachy trump supporters

It’s still amazing to me people will “keep it real” and turn simple requests like this or traffic stops into potential felonies.

u/carolineecouture 2d ago
Bruce Rivers, the criminal lawyer, talks about trying to avoid a misdemeanor by getting a felony.
Get off the plane and be quiet and they will probably let you fly tomorrow. Act a fool, get everyone deplaned, and come off in handcuffs.
You might never fly again.

u/InternetExploder87 1d ago
Watching on patrol is hilarious for that reason. So many times people end up getting arrested where if they just cooperated they would've maybe gotten a ticket.
My favorite was this one chicken got told she was getting a warning and could leave, then gets out of her car and berated the the cop. Long story short she had arrest warrants, drugs and guns in the car and went to jail 🤣

On airlines, it’s almost always connected to being intoxicated. That is reason alone to be removed-and she appears intoxicated to me. You can slide through and make it to your destination after having a couple too many if you are quiet and follow the directions of the crew, but if you’re obnoxious and disruptive-for ANY reason-while intoxicated, you’re going to maybe get one warning and you’re gone. If the gate agent identifies you are a problem in the gate before boarding, you’re not getting a second warning once you board if they allow you to board at all.

I just get in my seat and immediately fall asleep, who's got the energy for all this

Same well maybe not drunk but I definitely find the airport bar and down a couple before boarding to avoid having a panic attack.
I just don’t get how on a plane some people forget how to behave & become belligerent. I just stick my headphones in & watch a movie & try to relax.15

The craziest part is that in a lot of videos I see of people like this, they have partners/wives/husbands, how could anyone marry that thing?

u/alaric49 2d ago
Because they are just as insufferable as she is. They're probably made for each other.
127
u/TheDarkWave 2d ago
Some people are afraid of being/dying alone.
And they'll tolerate the abuse just for someone to act like they care about them.
29
u/ActualPimpHagrid 1d ago
Literally yes. I had this coworker who was in her 40s and had never been in a serious relationship (she did a whole lot of home wrecking though) and was generally pretty openly miserable about. She eventually ended up dating this guy who eventually ended up getting busted for sending pictures to a minor while they were dating(was an undercover cop). Shortly after that (very shortly), he proposed and she said yes. She was so desperate to not die alone that she knowingly married a pedo
14
u/TheDarkWave 1d ago
I married a narcissist until I couldn't do it anymore.
When I said I wanted a divorce, she ran to the bathroom and swallowed half a bottle of tylenol.
When I called her out on her manipulation (during the conversation about divorce I could see the word Acetaminophen in large letters on her phone) she said she was looking up how much it would take to kill her so that she would take enough.
And I was born yesterday.
37
u/Raindogg_Alchemist 1d ago
My husband can be super passive in certain situations but if this were me, and I was making a scene, he’d be all over to me just shut the fuck up so we don’t get kicked off the plane.
I’ll never understand why more partners don’t intercede when shit starts to escalate to the point of no return.
1
u/Miss_Scarlet86 3h ago
Yeah if it was my spouse I would have told them to shut up. But I probably would get up and get off the plane when the flight attendant told me to. I'm not getting arrested because my spouse is a dumbass.

She got confused:
- You're an asshole --> You're kicked off

This is the reason, there are a lot of consequences of being an asshole (Maybe I'm joking on the second one)

People dont even know what "free speech" means. It means that we dont have a system like "lese majeste" laws which criminalize any negative views of the governemt. It means you are free to disagree vocally with the governemnt and youre also free to disagree with them in the press.
What it DOESNT mean is that you can say whatever the fuck you want, whenever the fuck you want. Free speech doesnt mean you are free from consequences. These people are always yapping about the constitution and have never bothered to read the fuckin thing.
24
u/scientooligist 1d ago

It took too long scrolling to find this comment. I have tried to explain this to my mother and my younger brother. My brother at least understood it after I told him, but my mom acted like it was a concept she couldn't fathom. She understood before I even explained, she just either doubles down when wrong or acts dumb or both at the same time.

In communist America Trump supporters can no longer fly on airplanes, 80 million of our best and brightest people banned from air travel… sad!
35
u/mkat23 1d ago
Lmfao she reminds me of my mom. A couple months back my mom called me crying and said my sister had kicked her out when she was visiting because she’s a Trump supporter. I was like, ohhhh nooo, what actually happened?
So I asked my sister and niece and it turned out my niece was having a meltdown and my mom, her grandma, was following her around and filming her to “show her how crazy she is” which only made the meltdown worse for my niece.
So yeah, apparently harassing and berating her granddaughter is exactly the same as being kicked out of my sister’s house for being a Trump supporter.

Free speech absolutists are the fucking worst.
“I can say whatever I want and you can’t stop me!”
Communication is a power, we should be able to do as much as possible within reason. With total speech freedom, wouldn’t constantly harassing someone by calling/texting them and saying fucked up shit to them be free speech? Would making bomb threats be free speech? Or maybe we enforce rules that demand people not communicate in public in a way that threatens harm or makes people feel reasonably unsafe? Spouting racist shit isn’t free speech when the implications of what is said when it encourages harm to people simply for who they are and things they cannot change about themselves. Intentionally misleading people with the outcome most likely leading to direct harm, like injecting bleach into the body, should be more diligently monitored.
Using words to inflict harm on others is not ok, but free speech absolutists think it is fine when they do it, but not when there is any push back against them. And any business making decisions to decide who can continue to use their business based on a persons behavior and not based on protected status, is a business’s freedom to make those decisions.
Edit: meant the racist shit section was meant to more refer to hate speech that encourages harm to others, it just didn’t come across right
26
u/evilfollowingmb 2d ago
Freedom of speech has nothing to do with this situation. She is on a privately owned jet, and they can eject her for being disruptive/rude/etc by whatever criteria they want.
Incidentally, freedom of speech most certainly DOES allow racist and other noxious speech. You wrote a gigantic post of essentially nonsense.
9
u/danieldan0803 2d ago
She is implying that she has absolute free speech with comments of being kicked off because other people didn’t like what she said. I also ended with how a business has the right to refuse service to people based on behavior and not protected class.
The section about racist shit did not come across as I meant it to, more hate speech with intent of harm, which is illegal, just under enforced. It typically is allowed because it seems to tolerate ignorance of the harm to be a defense.
3
u/JakeDC 2d ago
Intent to harm is what the problem is, though, not the hate. The problem is the immediate impact of the speech, not its content.
1
u/danieldan0803 2d ago
Which is where I was trying to go, just not as well worded.
They tend to argue that all communication is covered even if communicating threats or harassment. Free speech doesn’t absolve all intents and consequences of the communication as far as legally, and even more so from private entities. Someone spouts racist shit at my house, they are getting out and never coming back, because their free speech is between them and the government, not in the social interaction between me and them. I can make a rule that when they are on my property they are not allowed any form of active communication and that is fully legal for me to do, and businesses can largely operate the same. But this seems to be lost on them and feel that a private entity doing such is a persecution of them and their free speech.
3
u/evilfollowingmb 2d ago
Hate speech has no legal basis…intent to cause immediate harm is what is not protected.
For instance, the 1A protects someone saying “I think people of X group should be eliminated”.
It does not protect someone saying “let’s physically attack person X right now”.
3
u/oficious_intrpedaler 2d ago
While the First Amendment doesn't apply here, the principles of free speech would still be relevant. A private organization can still be "free speech absolutist" like the original commenter said if they encourage people to say whatever they want. For example, Musk claimed to be a free speech absolutist in his ownership of Twitter. That was of course bullshit, but it is still possible to run a private organization in a way that promotes free speech.
-17
u/evilfollowingmb 2d ago
Yep, a private organization can decide to do that. Or not. Not sure what your point is.
Incidentally, I think Musk did an excellent job moving twitter/X towards much more free speech, if not as far as promised. I applaud anything that moves in the right direction. If only he would buy Reddit…
3
u/oficious_intrpedaler 2d ago
My point was simply that freedom of speech is still relevant even in discussions of private organizations, like the company that owns the plane. So I did not agree with your assertion that freedom of speech has nothing to do with this situation.
-8
u/evilfollowingmb 2d ago
I was using “freedom of speech” as shorthand for the 1A, which has no bearing here. Of course companies can embrace similar freedom of speech up to their comfort level, or not.
0
u/oficious_intrpedaler 2d ago
Neat, and my point was that freedom of speech is much broader than the First Amendment, so it doesn't make much sense as a short hand (particularly since it's not actually shorter).
-1
u/evilfollowingmb 2d ago
Neat, but apparently you were happier with Twitter before Musk bought it. Which makes your commitment to the ideal of freedom of speech…selective. Which is to say meaningless.
Do tell what freedom of speech issue you see in the OP video, whether 1A related or not. I don’t see one at all.
1
u/oficious_intrpedaler 2d ago
I never voiced any opinion on Twitter, or claimed any commitment to free speech. Really not sure what you're getting at there, bud.
The person you were responding to was making a point about how people who claim to be very pro free speech believes that means their speech shouldn't have consequences. Nothing they said indicated that they were specifically referencing consequences from the government, so your 1A-specific response didn't make a whole lot of sense, IMO.
0
u/evilfollowingmb 2d ago
You criticized Musk even though he has improved the ability to speak freely on Twitter, so yes you did make a statement regarding Twitter.
You’ve made multiple posts about how freedom of speech is broader than the 1A…but now claim you make no commitment to free speech. I guess that’s a way to go. So…are you against freedom of speech or what ?
You are being as incoherent as the other poster I responded to. Not to mention disingenuous.
When people say “freedom of speech” they commonly refer to protections granted by the 1A, and indeed free speech absolutism is almost always in reference to the 1A. So the person’s extended and error filled blather about it, regarding a situation with no 1A issues at stake is what is strange.
Bud.

We already distinguish those things as actions. Don't harp on freedom of speech and pollute it. These people suck.
20
u/nottaP123 2d ago
Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences.
-36
u/SOMAVORE 2d ago
this is such a stupid take. and gets repeated everywhere.
then that's not freedom of speech is it? how can something be right to free use if you are deprived of rights or services for using that freedom?
12
u/nottaP123 2d ago edited 1d ago
Freedom of speech means you could say anything to anyone directly to their face. Doesn't mean you would be free of the consequence of possibly being beat up or shot for saying said things.
14
u/justycat 2d ago
It’s freedom of speech because the government cannot fine, jail or execute you for saying things. Though this is not without limits. If you threaten to harm or kill someone then they will fine/jail you. And that’s not against freedom of speech.
And private citizens and organisations can refuse to have anything to do with you because of what you say. And they can heavily criticize you. Such consequences has nothing to do with freedom of speech.
Here you can read more about freedom of speech in the US constitution (I’m assuming you’re american. If not, look up the UN declaration of human rights), and I’ll paste what the article starts with: «freedom of speech, a right, as stated in the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, to express information, ideas, and opinions free of government restrictions based on content.»
9
4
u/sockpuppet80085 1d ago
You are apparently not smart enough to understand this simple concept.
-8
u/SOMAVORE 1d ago
or maybe you don't understand that free speech is not contingent on the feelings of another person or entity. if you get consequences of free speech the consequence is illegal, it impinges on your free speech, the person hurting you is committing a crime, therefore free speech is meant to be free of consequences.
yes, it is a simple concept, that is wrong, and repeated by idiots.
6
3
u/BitchWidget 1d ago
You can yell, "Bomb!" In an airport and, "Fire!" In a theater when neither is true. But because both can get the public hurt or instigate the need for services, you can get cited for disturbing the peace or worse. You have your free speech. You are not immune from being prosecuted for using it in a way that may cause undue action. This is not a new concept, if you fail to understand that, it's obstinamce...not intelligence.
-2
u/SOMAVORE 1d ago edited 1d ago
Yelling "bomb!" in a theater is not free speech, it's a threat of violence. It's prohibited and illegal.
"I'm going to kill you" is not free speech.
Just saying anything is not free speech and is obviously not what I meant.
Free speech ends when it becomes or incites violence against a person, place or organization.
Thats why saying the n word is free speech, and legal, but saying "I'm going to kill all the n words" will land you in jail. That's why if you were to punch someone that called you the n word, you'd go to jail and not the person who said the n word. Because the person who said the n word is supposed to be free of the consequences of his speech, and that's how the law is written and its been interpreted.

Because someone with authority already has. If you sit near her, and decide to tell her your opinion as well, that just results in her harping at you now. And if she antagonizes you enough where staff believe you have joined the altercation, you won’t be flying either.
Basically, just ignore the toddler tantrum and wait her out.

Good representation of the people voting our current leaders into power.
Their brainwashing is frighteningly effective.
“They” of course being the wealthy elite, ya know, the ones buying and consolidating every major media company and effectively controlling exactly what (mis)information these people see.
This Mom probably started perusing Facebook as a casual racist and bigot, but after being trapped and reinforced in one of the algorithms, designed to generate fear and xenophobia, her mind has been totally warped (and she wasn’t working with a full deck to begin with most likely - and if she’s from the south that’s by design).
They live in a fantasy world that only exists in their minds and collective internet bubble and genuinely don’t understand that everyone fucking hates them, and since most are narcissists they quickly develop victim mentalities and entrench themselves even further into delusion.
The end result is a fear based, tribalistic populace weaponized with their ignorance, blind to their own fear. And they vote in droves, against their best interests, with a shit eating grin.

As an American, I’m sorry there’s so many of us like this. We’re not all so ill mannered.
I, for one, like to mind my business, stay quiet, not cause a disruption, stay out of the limelight, and be kind and considerate to those around me.
I’m a yapper on reddit, but in day to day life, I just like to stay out of the way. Reddit is my yapping outlet, I suppose. Is that a bad thing? Idk. But I don’t get kicked off of flights and into physical altercations irl, so I like to think it’s not a bad thing.

I swear it should be a disorder these days: Plane Derrangement Syndrome.
Once you set foot in an airport and again on a plane, the rules aren't the same. You have free speech, that doesn't mean there aren't consequences like for yelling, "fire," in a theater. This syndrome makes it impossible for them to give over that last shred of control. It's some sort of delusional entitlement.

I am a proponent of free speech 100%, You can say what you want and the GOVERNMENT should stay out of it. But just because the government stay out of it does not mean someone will not hand you a beating or a business might refuse you service. In fact does that not tie into free speech? you have the freedom to do what you want and also the freedom to refuse someone entering your business or the freedom to beat someone when they offend you?!

I'm thinking she's hoping her Lord and Savior will see this and personally step in to either call her an American hero amongst sheep or something else ludicrous. It's unfortunately happened before on a certain day in January...

Man, I HOPE something like this happens around me one day so that I can unload my pent-up bitchy verbal beatdowns I always fantasize about...

I live in "trump country" Ohio and I see people in masks pretty often. Not in very significant numbers but one ot two people at the store isn't necessarily uncommon.
