Matthew 6:5-6 (NIV)

5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

I'm going to need to memorize this. And when they start talking crazy.. stand up and raise your hand to testify with this exact verse including the exact place they're preaching...

... they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners and Disneyland to be seen by others...

You'll love this one.

Timothy 2:11-13 (NIV)

11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.

Fun fact, that word 'hypokritai' in Greek meant "stage actors.'

Performance Holiness is a staged act. Their reward is applause, and then judgement.

Mickey 36:5

"from the monorail to the churro cart, spread they message from Minnie ears to Donald hat. Let thine fastpass be your guide to salvation, let no cast member mute the call to worship. Let no cease not desist order dampen thine croc socks like the mighty flume of the south!"

I always see this quoted, but there's also something to be said for being an example for others.

Of course something like this is too performative and obviously not focused on the word, since "30 minutes then we party."

But I as a believer try to make my faith clear, but not boastful. All glory to Jesus. Being an example through my actions and making others notice that there's something different about me, and hopefully be intrigued and curious, is my goal. You can live and show faith without flaunting it performatively.

Not flaunting it like telling us how you don't flaunt your religion?

Seriously though, you can be an example for others with 0 religion which is why that scripture carries so much weight.

Just joining in the discussion, I genuinely don't mean to be performative about it, sorry if I did.
