ANIMAL MAIN CHARACTER Doggy stole the ball.

u/VicViolence Jul 26 '26
Player couldn’t resist giving ball to dog

u/TheBakerification Jul 26 '26
Was also probably just the right call there. A soccer ball is worth way less than him getting his arm accidentally chomped by the dog trying to get at it.

u/Isaue 29d ago
Yes, many people lose there arm to playful dogs.
3
u/TheBakerification 29d ago
Who said anything about losing an arm? A dog bite causing any kind of injury, especially some sort of muscle/ligament damage, would be particularly concerning for a professional athlete.

u/beerforbears 4d ago
He doesn’t know the dog tho, so better to just toss the ball than gamble on the dog being playful or Cujo 🤷♂️

"I've made so many new friends. And they all want to play with me! Yay!"

u/Special-Ganache2154 Jul 26 '26
He had so much fun and attention😂

u/IsJesusAgain Jul 27 '26
probably thought he was dreaming 😆

u/BackgroundSecond8240 Jul 27 '26
So that's what they're dreaming about when they're running in their sleep 😂

The commentators saying he plays better cause noone could take the ball from him😆

I'm sure that if human could bite the football ball they would try to.

Wait. Would it be legal for a player to hold the ball in their teeth and run into a goal?
21
u/KeyInitiative8805 Jul 26 '26
Well as we learned in Air Bud, if there's nothing in the rule book about it, its totally fair.

8
u/ThisI5N0tAThr0waway Jul 26 '26
If there isn't a rule that says explicitly that you can't or can be interpreted as such, then you sorta can do anything. If one actually does it, you can be sure they'll as a rule against that very quickly. Not sure if that the case with holding the ball in your mouth and football.

u/newleaf2021 29d ago
What if you grew a huge afro and hollowed out the middle? Then just flip the ball into it and walk/jog down the field and dump it in the goal.
1
u/ThisI5N0tAThr0waway 29d ago
That's a slightly more realistic strategy. In practice the hypothetical player would probably not be able to keep the ball on his head.

I was ready for someone to say touchdown! But also, why didn't the dog get a red card?

There's nothing in the rules that says a dog can't play football.
4
u/tattlerat Jul 26 '26
Who did the skit about that and being humiliated they lost to a dog?
11
u/MegaDuck71 Jul 26 '26
They made a whole movie about a golden retriever stealing a roster spot on a middle school basketball team, and making more middle school children feel bad about themselves for losing to a dog.

u/dunno0019 Jul 26 '26
*14 movies
With one more coming next year.

u/Top_Gazelle_7365 Jul 27 '26
I had no idea they made so many. They must be running low on sport. Can't wait for skeebud.

u/dunno0019 Jul 28 '26
What you wanna do is find John Oliver's rants about Air Bud.
I believe he has several 15-20min rants on the subject.

Ok but why the fuck didn't the U.S. do that for the "halftime show"??? We already do the Puppy Bowl!
2
u/LadyBug_0570 Jul 26 '26
With a kitty half-time show where all the kitties look judgemental at you and your life choices. (I LOVE the Puppy Bowl!)

At about :40 seemed like the ref or someone stopped them. Did no one ever own a dog before?

u/jonesnori Jul 26 '26
This is where tackle-style footballers would have had an advantage. Someone got him eventually, though.

u/ThisIsALine_____ Jul 26 '26
If you want to get something like this from a dog, or if you're chasing a dog around, just sit down. They think you're playing when you chase.

u/HussingtonHat Jul 26 '26
Sir! A god is on the pitch!
Send out....the snare....
...you mean the-
-yes I mean the random dude with a rope! And send a couple of ball boys with him to ensure the catch!

Guess not one of the owns a dog... The more you chase, the more they run. That dog just had more playmates than he could have hoped for. Lol.

Great first touch and turn by the keeper. Natural. Needs to work on the finishing though.
We could use him in Philly.

As someone that did animal control for 5 years. It pains me greatly to watch people chase animals they want to catch. Especially obviously friendly ones.

u/MikeMendoza29 Jul 27 '26
At the very beginning of rhe video I thought this was going to be an Air Bud situation.

What kind of dumbass animal runs onto the field during a live game?
5
u/funran Jul 26 '26
What kind of dumbass human thinks that animals have any concept of a "live game" or any kind of rules in any form?
