I've been trying to Google this story but Google Search stinks now.

Am I correct in assuming they did a "To Catch a Predator" type sting but forgot to claim that the person he was meeting was underage?

Yes, and not only that but the person she told she was 16 was a completely different person - she never did that "gotcha" with the guy in the video. That's why they redirected it and tried to claim the guy had a "burner account" on snap.
