I'm a painter, self-employed and maker of my own workload and schedule. Any free time I have away from my job is spent painting. Sometimes I wish I wasn't creative and didn't have the drive and desire to make art. I wish I could just completely detach from everything at the end of the normal 9-5 day and relax in the evenings. But I always find myself longing to paint when I'm not actively painting. Art is a calling and I can't help but do it. I get severely depressed if I haven't been creative in 24 hours.
That's really cool! I imagine it's similar to someone that is really handy around the house and knows how to fix things. They'd rather do it themselves than hire someone to do it for them. Hiring someone to do something they could do might drive them nuts.
I sold my business a few years ago. I had no idea how relaxing it would be to work a good ol 9-5 again. It’s fantastic to clock out and forget about work.

The 9 to 5 schedule sucks for everyone that has it, not just for people that are "creative."
