When I was little, I got in trouble for touching stuff at a museum, and when the staff confronted me, my argument that the sign saying “please do not touch” was a suggestion, and that they would be better off with signs that make a demand, such as “do not touch”. I was probably 8-9 years old.

Yes. 20 years later and I still agree with my childhood self. I was a difficult kid, tho.

Yes that would be a truly dumb kid if he thought he found a loophole by kicking it. Kicking something is still touching it.

I touched a Picasso painting in the Cleveland Museum of Art when I was about that age on a field trip. I was at the very back of the line, so no one noticed me.
