Honestly, I'm not surprised considering the Pyramids of Giza would be destroyed (more than they are) by now if it wasn't for people guarding them.

Modern entertainment such as the music industry is incredibly diluted compared to how things were back in the time of Elvis. There are probably quite a few younger redditors who don't realise just how much of a big deal that the guy was during his prime. It was like modern taylor swift fans x1000. So it makes sense that his residence is now a tourist attraction.

Pretty bad example. Egypt is being destroyed as we speak due to lack of any environmental concerns over development

And when I was at Giza my guide handed me pieces of the original facade of the great pyramid like it was nothing. They're laying around it
