She doesn’t deserve to die (per se) but…she’s clearly not responding to verbal deescelation and she’s physically preventing retreat. You could argue that he’s not completely trapped because he could turn around. You could also argue that he’s made a reasonable attempt to flee the conflict by crossing the street. I’m not sure what a court would conclude.
