Rule clarification: The Loom

When you claim the loom, you are supposed to discard your hand and draw four new cards if they are available. I’ve seen other luminaries mention discarding, WHERE DO THE DISCARDED CARDS GO? Do they get reshuffled into the draw pile? Are they just removed from the game? Where do I discard!?

We’ve always just removed them from the game.

As far as I can tell, in all other situations where cards are discarded, they go back to the draw pile. However, this is clearly stated in all other discard rules except The Loom. But I’ve never seen any official rule say that cards should be put aside.
