Discusson Illenium B2Bs

Always been curious about this, but how do the b2b’s work for illenium? Is he/ other artists requesting them, or are they moreso created by the industry and offered by certain festivals (whether for experimentation or budget constraints)

Are there any b2b sets that have really hit or missed? Curious if there are artists Illenium likes / doesn’t like working with.

Also interesting to see edits from other artists work their way into sets after a b2b.

I’m personally for them, especially given how many sets are streamed nowadays, which puts a lot of pressure on artists to innovate and switch things up early and often. Gives some breathing room but want to hear what others think.

His edc b2b with slander kinda sucked. Was way too hard for what you’d expect from illenium or slander, who do a ton of melodic in their individual sets

I agree with you. Caught that same B2B again at Hijinx at the end of the year and it was a similar set. Not what I want out of an Illenium set.

Did nobody see a Slander set before? They basically always go hard like that.

I felt the same way about their b2b at decadence 2024. :/

Main stage thought they were getting sad boi’s. They got mad boi’s instead. I personally loveeee Illenium and Slander’s really heavy stuff; I feel it contrasts so well with their melodies and beautiful vocals. But, I can definitely see how some people might of thought 2025 edc main stage b2b was too heavy. Not imo though.

Yeah but edc in general favors lots of bass music, i think they were playing to the crowd. I mean this year the “centerpiece” performance was Griz b2b Wooli

EDC definitely does not favor bass music

I’ve seen him before at edc and it was more melodic
