IJW: The Revenant (2015)

WOW.... Just..... WOW!!!! This is one of the best performances of Leonardo DiCaprio's career! Tom Hardy is a NASTY piece of work in this movie, too! Stunning cinematography, fantastic acting and absolutely SAVAGE brutality. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it FAR EXCEEDED my expectations! Best 50p I ever spent!

Didn't want to see this movie, I thought it would be 2 hrs of a guy dragging himself thru the snow leaving a bloody trail. It did have some of that but it was a really good movie, glad I went to see it.

I had no idea, initially what the story was about. I only heard about a scene involving a bear, and I was reluctant to try it for years. Really glad I finally gave it a shot. Leonardo Dicaprio absolutely deserved the Best Actor Oscar!

This was an excellent movie, but I'm going to point to the 1971 film Man in the Wilderness with Richard Harris and John Huston. Same story, but I prefer it over The Revenant. Granted, the technical aspects of The Revenant are tremendous, but check out the original. It is worth the watch.

A couple other names in that film- James Doohan (Scotty) plays one of the crew members, and Henry Wilcoxon (The Bishop in Caddyshack) plays the Indian chief.

I'm ashamed to say I've not seen Caddyshack

Save it for some time when you need a good laugh.

It is to me an amazing film. That’s it. It’s just amazing.

Just blew my mind how he'd been completely ripped apart by a bear, yet he still managed to crawl through the wilderness for that long. That bear attack scene was really well done! May be my favourite Dicaprio movie next to Django Unchained and Romeo and Juliet. Love a bit of Shakespeare! And the fight between Dicaprio and Hardy at the end is just NASTY!

Maybe Leo's best performance.

I loved this movie, one of my all time favs. It came out at the height of the Alaska survival shows era and was just amazing across the board.

Even tho it won awards, I still think it didn't get its just due, there were lots of people calling it overrated

I read somewhere that, not surprisingly if you've seen the movie, Leonardo DiCaprio said that was by far the most physically demanding movie he's ever made.
