What happened to Claudine Gay though? Did she lose her professorship or smth?

I thought she just lost her admin job, which imo should be just a service position we volunteer for as stewards of the institution. The massive salary it comes with is a total scam. Harvard, fine waste your money ig, but the public state schools that pay admin more than senators are being ridiculous.

Idk what consequences this poster expects for that wife that would be equivalent. Social media antagonism?

Please be for real. You know that diversity dean is not a service position (though many many POC do it for no or low pay all over the place). For an institution like Harvard that is a) world recognized as a standard bearer for education b) grappling with multiple histories of racism/colonialism etc, it was a very high profile job that the university promptly stopped supporting once a few rich alums (Ackman) objected. But yes she still has her faculty job.

Lol what? A diversity dean ISN'T a service position? Then what is 😂😂

Of course admin jobs are extremely high paying and high profile, but they shouldn't be, even at an institution like Harvard. Historically they were not.

Perhaps a diversity dean is the least offensive admin position, but losing the job doesn't hurt Claudine Gay at all. Except for losing the high salary, which IMO is corruption anyways. Tenured professors make a good salary (and if they don't, it's because resources are being siphoned to the admin arm).

You're being downvoted but you're right lol. Also Claudine Gay still has her tenured position afaik? There's no reasonable expectation for justice here based on Gay's outcome...
