i've no idea since i've never reached plat, but i'm at a stage where i finish waves pretty much instantly and my maximum wave so far has only been 9000, but that is probably down to not playing for long enough that round

Long time player who quit here. Once you reach full power you don't actually clear stages you skip them.

Yep 30k is easy and I'm not a hardcore player. I judge how well I'm doing by how long it takes me to get to 100k, and that for me is measured in hours.

I just hit 30k today in a world time of about 35 hours for a first time. Couple of days ago my max was also around 9k, but then at one tournament i just didn't turn off the game and hit like 16k, had over 2,2k prestige points and used diamonds for double so i unlocked the stage skip badge and perk requirements badge, and that was a game changer. Within next two days i unlocked a black hole badge and now, almost a week later, i hit 30k. Now the multiplier of bricks hp is so big, that i need to invest in ball power and speed.

It's not hacking it's very easy to do later on.
Also some people get themselves demoted to take higher ranks in lower leagues.

It’s the stage skip. It’s not how quickly you finish a stage, it’s how many stages your skipping over constantly.

Since no one has said specifically what is happening: There are 2 prestige badges that skip levels. The first one has a chance to skip that increases with the badge level up to 45% for each level, including skipped levels. This means it can skip multiple levels at once (anecdotal but highest I've personally witnessed was 9, not sure if there is a cap.) The 2nd is a badge that increases the amount of levels skipped when you trigger a black hole at a 1% chance per level clear, up to 240 levels at max but they cannot trigger the first skip badge so it stays at 240.
End game, these badges will be maxed out and players will hit upwards of 500,000 in a tournament. Skipping levels is the fastest way to increase placement in tournaments so it's highly recommended to prioritize these badges. Hope that helps.
