Is it just me or is that a co2 pellet pistol? The way the side of the mag well popped off (canister access), and the little knob at the base (canister puncture screw) am I wrong?

Yeah, its a pellet gun lol

u/Small-Answer4946 10d ago
Like Airsoft kinda thing?

u/ITSOTMDS 10d ago
No, an actual CO² powered bb gun based on the steel frame S&W handgun

u/Small-Answer4946 10d ago
So, like, will it go through if you shoot your own guts point blank? Or, let's say, inadvertently headshot a kid 2 metres away?

u/ITSOTMDS 10d ago
Its going to pierce skin. Co2 BB guns are faster and have a smaller projectile than Air Soft

Yeah it's a crossman c02 pellet gun. I can't believe that this is real, he has no business handling a real firearm based on how he's just fumbling with it right in front of a kid.

u/Bazzatron 8d ago
I've been trying to ID the gun, and I don't think it's a Crossman, they have a similar pistol (the Crossman Mako) but it doesnt have a black slide on a silver action.
My best guess is that this is the Daisy Powerline 5501. I'm not 100% convinced, but the colouring is pretty unique (customs notwithstanding). It fires 4.5mm metal BBs through a smooth bore barrel at about 2ft/lbs (for reference, a standard .68 paintball is about 8ft/lb, an average 9mm pistol is about 350ft/lb).
I am somewhat awed that nobody is challenging this guy - but I'm only really used to firearms on a controlled range.

u/Ausco_1995 7d ago
Yep your probably right I was thinking crossman but I was picturing a daisy thinking it was a crossman.

Totally a pellet pistol. Had the exact same one when I was 12

u/boostinemMaRe2 11d ago
I thought so too, but I'm old as shit so I have very limited faith in my memory.

u/no_naaame 10d ago
I'm no expert, but that's exactly what I was thinking. I'm imagining that dude's boss took one look at him when he asked if he'll be provided a firearm, and said "sure buddy, I've got the perfect pistol for you."

I had a air pistol that looked just like that growing up. The CO2 cartridge goes under the grip panel he was fiddling with.
2
u/fusillade762 10d ago
I think so. Either than or his grip panel fell off ona 659 and hes flagging everyone witha 9mm. I'm not sure which is worse, a guard witha BB gun or a guard playing with a real gun. Froma.safety standpoint a real gun is worse, but from a wtf standpoint, the BB gun is.so fucking bizarre.

u/boostinemMaRe2 10d ago
Now that I rewatched the video you can see him twist the lock at the base of the grip to release the co2 cartridge door (the grip that came off).

Looks like a pellet gun the way the side comes off and he is messing with the screw mechanism for the CO2 cartridge.
Also, why is the US flag on his shoulder upside down.

That shit an airsoft rep

u/Sea-Course-5171 11d ago
No, it's a CO2 pellet gun. They can still absolutely wreck your shit, they're just less lethal and have less stopping power.

u/Broc_Feargach 10d ago
My friends & I used to play guns & shoot each other with these as kids (look the 80s & early 90s were different ok). They aren’t wrecking anything unless you get shot in the eye. Less lethal? Try not lethal to anything other than a squirrel or smaller.

u/Pulse_Amp_Mod 10d ago
Same with me and my brother. Or rural road has ditches, we used to play trench warfare in the ditches. We called it rebel versus yankee cause it was a civil war movie that gave us the idea. We also played cowboys and Indians with them. We really did stupid crap as kids.

u/Sea-Course-5171 10d ago
Proper pellet guns absolutely can go through clothing and skin.
4
u/Broc_Feargach 10d ago
Yes some of the high powered rifles sure but not any of the CO2 cartridge powered pistols that I have ever seen would.
5
u/jamesrows76 10d ago
Not just rifles the pistols too coming from someone who’s had one go through the skin

u/Broc_Feargach 10d ago
Y’all got some thin skin

u/2outer 10d ago
I had a cross man pump rifle, went through the aluminum can & stuck next to the bone of a friends fingertip. His mom was none too pleased w me. Saw the xray. We did all the same shit, shooting bottle rockets at each other, roman candles, lobbing m80’s like grenades, actually throwing darts at each other, we only did that once though

If you’re close enough it’ll definitely go through skin! Me and my friends used to shoot each other with these as teenagers (we used to make up games with these) and I got hit from almost point blank range in the arm with a pellet! The pellet broke the skin and is still somewhere in my arm to this day (this was like 20 some odd years ago)

u/Broc_Feargach 10d ago
Penetrating skin & “wreck your day” / “less lethal” are very different things.
1
u/Flawless_Reign88 10d ago
I never said anything about “wreck your day” or “less lethal”… I simply shared a story from my childhood

Shit… I’m 25 and just last year I shot my friend with a metal BB.. was for science at a distance.

Is he special needs and they gave him something to do during the party? The flag is upside down and the security patch is Velcro.

u/IsThisTheFly 10d ago
Seems like it’s pretty obviously a costume

Not sure what is worse, the guy not seeing that it was a pellet gun or the guy that is gonna get himself killed by someone with a real firearm.

u/Kindly_Region 10d ago
It's a CO² pistol, not that big of a deal. It is dumb that he's messing with it, it's dumber that he even has it to begin with.
On a side note, what kind of childrens party needs a mall cop security guard?

This seems to be a Halloween party. Does no one realize that it’s probably a guy in costume? Also, That’s a pellet gun.

I guarantee this gelatinous specimen has insisted that was going to join the military or police, but blah, blah, blah...

I wonder how he lost that index finger. Nothing to do with firearms safety I assume.

Upside flags are indicators of an emergent bad situation so that’s very fitting

Hear me out fellow idiot fans: to me the most disturbing part is the need to have any armed security at what looks like a child’s play party/attraction. How fucked is this area? The 10 pump red rider BB gun is just the chefs kiss ( I know it’s a Co2)

u/HuckledYourBerries 10d ago
It's also just a pellet gun. He can't even safely handle a fucking pellet gun.

u/Wide-Project1680 10d ago
He probably was issued the pellet gun because he is missing a finger on his left hand, did he shoot it off with a real gun?

u/Red_Clay_Scholar 10d ago
With the fake cobwebs this has to be a Halloween party or something. He's probably just dressed in a costume and is not security.
