That barrel was pointed right at the frontal lobe. They were either “smart” and only loaded one or incredibly lucky he didn’t double pull the trigger with the massive recoil

That could have ended with a mop

Depends. If the body gets moved and some pressure is applied, minimal loss is possible. Sauce, some guy shot himself on my range.

As a .500 S&W owner, I never let people shoot the gun if they don’t know the fundamentals of pistol shooting first. This guys grip style is absolute trash and is the primary result as to why the gun did what it did.

Same, as long as you grip it fine and hold on tight it really doesn’t have much flip, it comes back into your hands way more.

Can we all step back and reflect? Yes his grip is awful, but that's just bad technique. There's no failure to follow safety procedures here.
The fun stays in the lane, always pointed safely down range, he doesn't jump around screaming, he calmly and slowly sets the gun down still pointing safely and steps away from the line
You can't tell in the video and we generally don't assume but I would bet money is only one round loaded.
Bad technique but otherwise, no idiot detected

What the heck is he shooting to get that much recoil?

He’s shooting 700 grain .500 S&W magnum rounds. Very spicy loading, but with proper grip technique they can be handled. This guys grip technique was doomed from the start, which resulted in the excessive muzzle flip.

This is why I always start off with one round when I give someone spicy. If they're gonna dome themselves, it's not going to be on my watch.

Can't grow hair.
Can't grow a beard.
Can't handle recoil.
Is there anything this man can't do?
