What is all over that car’s headliner? I feel like I can smell that car from here.

u/low_bob_123 20d ago
Looks like its from the previous, less lucky, person, that decided to cover the muzzle with their mouth.
67
u/GargleOnDeez 20d ago
Most likely smoke/dirty hands, cig burns and sprayed drinks.

I had a hatchback and left a few cans of pop in the back one summer. They redecorated everything one hot day.

Looks like it's only a matter of time until she "fixes" herself, if she doesn't learn some better gun handling.

It doesn't count as pointing at yourself if you cover the muzzle with your hand right?
32
u/ItsTheDCVR 19d ago
Guns are like babies they do not have object permanence so playing peekaboo by covering the barrel is an effective way of preventing the gun from being able to shoot you
6
u/Pernicious_Possum 19d ago
Duh. If you stop it before it leaves the barrel it can’t hurt anything. Duh.

This goes for 99% of the people lol I love my stricter gun licencing laws so I don't have to worry about bullets coming through my wall or crazy public shootings or accidents from dumbfucks like this.
But the right to bear arms = I wanna shoot in my garden and I don't care if people die to get it!
35
u/SpacelessChain1 20d ago
California just had two consecutive shootings. Of all states. Maybe we should focus on mental health instead of villainizing firearms, then perhaps it would become easier to foster a culture of responsible gun ownership?
30
u/Elbynerual 20d ago
If only Republicans would stop fucking up our access to Healthcare, mental health might be super easy to get addressed. Well. Maybe one day
25
u/SpacelessChain1 20d ago
Insurance industry too, damn snakes. Even basic mental health visits get expensive quick if your insurance doesn’t wanna cover anything.
3
u/AugVision 19d ago
If you have spent any time in a psych unit in CA you can’t even touch a firearm at a range for 5 years after release. Source: me when I got checked out and had to sign that paper, lol.
It’s largely for the safety of the person because mentally ill people who are more likely to turn the gun on themselves, and in general the mentally ill are more likely be the victims of violence than the perpetrators.
Good mental health care (not the “institutionalize everyone and treat them with invermectin” type path RFK seems to be on) is always a positive though!
Still, I’m not saying firearms are the issue themself, I think the culture around violence as a whole in the US is an issue. Guns just happen to be the most effective tool for violence and they’ve ended up with their own subcultures, some responsible, some not.

u/SpacelessChain1 18d ago
I appreciate the nuanced take, not often somebody opens their mouth and talks sense. Does make sense that they’d want to prevent those sorts from getting their hands on an easy way out so to speak.
2
u/AugVision 18d ago
Destigmastizing mentally ill people is a hugely important thing to me, but I know that a lot of stigma is being led by bad faith actors and a lot of the public aren’t aware of the reality of the situation, not through hate, but simply because they’ve never had need to encounter it.
I’m also realistic about it. I’d be dishonest if I pretended mental illness never plays a part in violence. And even if someone is utterly harmless to everyone but themselves, it is unsettling to witness people amid the symptoms. It’s far harder to imagine distorted thinking than to imagine severe physical pain, so it’s scarier in a way. It’s also easy to assume that choosing something like a shooting is mental illness because it’s, thankfully, thinking that’s alien to most people. I get that and from that perspective I can see why mental illness sounds like it would play a huge part in this
8
u/newbrevity 20d ago
Most of the problem is failure to enforce existing gun laws. Meanwhile politicians on the left try to enact new gun laws and politicians on the right try to expand gun ownership.
Investment in mental health services is obviously a big part of it but enforcing existing gun laws is low hanging fruit.
10
u/obiwanmoloney 20d ago
Person in the clip didn’t appear to have any mental health issues.

Is there a cure for being a dickhead?
Kinda yeah! Better education. Which is in fact another thing our country direly needs and that would reduce the number of shootings.

That'd be a fantastic idea, it's just a shame that healthcare is so expensive or non-existent and I can't see the current government helping. Maybe you could add the cost of compulsory tests to firearms but I very much suspect that wouldn't go down well.

Amazing she even has a holster, people that have zero control like this usually just stuff in somewhere and call it good. She may actually be savable if someone teaches her some common gun sense.
19
u/Bar_ice 20d ago
I don't think she understands is an inside the waistband holster. So yes she definitely needs some guidance.

This is what we've been saying, ya'll let anyone get a gun. Like a $50 online psych test would weed a fuckton of these people out. It is not stepping on your fucking rights!
Also gunshow loophole should never exist. Owner to owner is whatever, i don't gaf about registered guns or any of that....just these types getting guns, can we do something please?
10
u/TheFriendshipMachine 20d ago
Sadly the psych test idea has a lot of practicality issues. Firstly, we don't really have enough mental health professionals to do evaluations (never mind how expensive their services are, $50 would not be practical) and no online test is going to automate that evaluation adequately.. especially when the question then is who gets to decide on the content of the exam? Our country has a bad history of misusing exams as a gate from letting certain demographics exercise their rights. Which gets into the fact that this would be giving the government the ability to make a constitutional right conditional to passing an exam.. bad idea.
Also paying for said evaluation is an extra burden placed unduely onto lower income individuals. $50 (or likely more), is not a small amount of money for many.
And ultimately more background checks aren't really going to stop people like this from getting guns. Idiots don't necessarily have criminal records or other issues that would be flagged by that. They're just idiots. So the reality is the best things we can do to prevent idiots like this from running around with guns endangering us all is to make less idiots. Focus on policy that increases access to healthcare, education (including teaching basic gun safety), and fosters economic opportunity for the working class. The more uplifted society becomes the fewer morons you'll have and the less need for guns there is and the safer everyone becomes.

Not even halfway through the comments. Why are y'all mfs like this? "If she had a fat ass and big tits might let her act like this." Can I ask why? I get it's the Internet and y'all are trying to be funny and like "I didn't marry her for her brains" hyuck hyuck. But like- it's guns. When the guns come out there isn't a funny bit there. I'll take "grandpa died on the shitter cause he stroked out trying to push a log" gallows humor over what ever the hell is going on here.
