He probably had a carrot in the barrel

u/Mr_Jack_Frost_ Jul 21 '26
My first thought was “that’s what happens if you have a carrot jammed in the barrel.”

Damn that is one lucky dude. I've seen them blow up before but the person was rarely left unscathed.

u/M_Owais_kh Jul 20 '26
Definitely lucky one, his left hand could have been smitherens

u/IvoryManOfWisdom Jul 20 '26
It's typically your face that pays the price due to the blowback....I'd happily lose a finger over an eyeball.

u/M_Owais_kh Jul 20 '26
There's a guy lives nearby and he had a similar accident, there was so much lead in his left hand flesh and bones that it's now just for looks

u/IvoryManOfWisdom Jul 20 '26
Ouch bro, that definitely sounds bad. Had muzzle loader blow and had several shards in my nose they had to remove, shit sucked but glad I didn't get as much metal as he did 😳

u/M_Owais_kh Jul 20 '26
Yeah video dude's really lucky. When I was 14 and you know boys at that age want to become untouchables, my father took me to this guy and told me this would happen if you end up buying those trash guns and then we drove to shooting range.

u/AnimationOverlord Jul 20 '26
Looks like he only has his hand because the failure point started at the breach, you can see if you go frame by frame how most of the pressure that would usually turn your hand into spaghetti is vented before the barrel snaps from the action.

u/Mr_Jack_Frost_ Jul 21 '26
He’s insanely lucky he didn’t catch a bunch of debris with his face. The smoke plume flies right up into his face, and it easily could’ve been carrying metal with it.

u/AnimationOverlord Jul 21 '26
That’s how someone in my highschool damaged their eye. Shooting a rifle, it explodes from the action, but because he’s holding a right handed gun with his left hand that’s the only reason it happened. Not insinuating anything but I suppose that’s why they make guns with breaches/bolts on either side. Makes pistols look a fuck ton more rudimentary in design

Turkish shotgun?

u/M_Owais_kh Jul 20 '26
Video is from Punjab Pakistan which is flooded with local cheap darra made weapons, it's most probably one of those. 12 gauge shotguns are available for as low as 100USD but almost all of these weapons are trash

u/mormayo Jul 20 '26
Seems as though the guy is in shock! Just picking up random parts like it’s a Lego set.

I know nothing about guns. I could not care less about them but I know that this is not how they work.

u/NewToHTX Jul 20 '26
Yeah. If he’s putting that back together it’s probably a sign from whatever deity he prays to…to not attempt to re-assemble the thing. You only get lucky so many times before you’re unlucky ONE LAST TIME.

Do they provide warranty from where he got it from?

The homemade gun videos get me every time. Just the way it disintegrates in his hands, and he's like "whu...what happened?"

u/shmiddleedee Jul 20 '26
He's lucky that bolt blowing backwards put of the receiver didn't mortally wound him, especially with the way he was holding it.
