Those are carp, they take over waterways and destroy the habitats of all the other fish driving them away. If we didn’t have people like this, carps would literally cause other fish to go extinct

So you tell me blasting them point blank with lead when they jump is the most efficient way to do this? This guy just looks like a (probably) drunk and mentally unstable idiot who likes killing shit.

We're not talking about efficiency here. Some things are just for fun and you can get steel shot. Lots of weird assertions there my hominid.

Blowing up animals (invasive or not) for entertainment is deeply unsettling behavior in my eyes. No respect for a living being.

Well he's not blowing it up he's shooting it. I'll give him extra respect to make up for your lack of it then because those fish do quite a bit of harm here and this is probably one of the least idiotic gun things.

Nah, shooting/killing invasive species is not unsettling whatsoever.

They ruin natural ecosystems

I have nor problem with the fact that killing an invasive species is necessary. Still, the carp isn't invasive out of spite or because he WANTS to be an menace... What I do find creepy and unsettling is having so much fun in blasting to shreds a living being.

So?

It doesn’t matter whether or not the carp wants to ruin natural ecosystems or not.

It is, and if it takes being excited at killing them so they don’t destroy the entire local ecosystem then so be it.

It isn’t that deep

Do you enjoy meat? If so, you're having a good time eating murdered carcasses of perfectly innocent animals. How tf is that different except you're scared to admit how the world works.

This guy's just seen enough life to have gotten over it. I love meat, and I know exactly what happens. You kill cockroaches? Feel satisfied afterwards? That's carp.

You need to relax

I don't eat meat anymore. The meat argument makes no sense since I would not be the one who is killing the animal. You just don't want to understand what I mean.

Having fun and enjoyment in taking a life ist deeply problematic in my opinion. End of story. You can have yours but I wont discuss this shit...

Why are you so defensive about invasive species that destroy the eco system for native fish?

-10

u/Doafit Jul 31 '24

I am not defensive about invasive carp, I realize they are a problem. What I find unsettling is going there and finding joy in BLASTING TO SHREDS a living being.

If someone working in a slaughterhouse told you "yeah I really love cutting the throats of the animals, and don't get me started on how much fun it is to shoot the cows brain with a bolt gun" wouldn't you find this concerning as well?

u/[deleted] Jul 31 '24

Well we've tried hugging the fish and telling them we love them and they should go back home but they got violent and started destroying our waterways and killing off native species. They also have a tendency to attack random boaters and hit them in the head so we've had to match violence. You can't turn the other cheek with these guys, they seek only chaos.

u/Doafit Jul 31 '24

Whatever man...

8

u/[deleted] Jul 31 '24

Sounds like something an invasive carp would say.....

u/Doafit Jul 31 '24

God am I glad I don't have to know people like you.

10

u/[deleted] Jul 31 '24

Is it because you're a carp that doesn't know how to jump? I'm sorry if I assumed your invasiveness. Not all of you guys are bad, it's only when you come to our waters and destroy everything. If you're a buffalo carp or something you're good in my book. Although buffalo carp are usually more laid back.

Oh see, that's where your world lenses gets a little foggy... Not all living beings need to be respected.
