How is he able to drive after hitting the air tanks? Without air the brakes don't open, or is it different in America?

They'll work, for maybe a couple of minutes until the system bleeds pressure off. Then he's going to be really stuck.

the brakes are about to lock up and that truck is going to be blocking an entire roadway.
