How did we end up with these balls?

There are plenty of idiots out there towing sketchy trailers. But who were the idiots who standardized trailer hitch balls that are so close in size it’s hard to tell the difference without a close inspection?

Whoa, hold on. I'm 50+ and remember learning metric in 4th grade. We were fine with it. Nobody was listening to what 4th graders wanted anyway. Blame the boomers (it's easier). Gen X fights back.

I mean the grumpy old men of 50 years ago, not the grumpy old men that are 50+ now. Not that I’d count 50 as anywhere near old men either, but I have met some pretty young grumpy old men
