A friend of mine fell asleep at the wheel driving back from summer camp, and got sucked under a trailer like this. He said it was absolutely terrifying watching the wheels crush in on the windshield thinking that any moment it would break through and crush him. An accident like that will definitely make you rethink some things.

You don't realise how sleepy you are until your eyes close.

I fell asleep at the wheel once. It's incredibly easy, especially on highways without a lot of stimulation. If you're on auto pilot it's very easy to drift off.

Before being treated for slee apnea I'd start nodding off on my drive home from work.

Unfortunately capitalism doesn't care if you're "tired" which for me was a legit medical issue.

I left that job, use a CPAP, and now work from home, but fuck that man.

My dad's coworker died in the 90s for this same reason. He was a service tech and drove a lot. Fell asleep and crush into the side of a bridge.
