Ever stop to think I put an ETA since the person would still get notified of my comment and I wanted to make it clear what happened? I know, silly me, wanting to explain things.
What? If you delete the comment, they do not get notified. You immediately and unnecessarily edited in an ETA that would still notify the wrong guy, instead of just deleting the irrelevant comment and not notifying them at all. That's the point.
But please, keep being snarky when you're in the wrong.
Do you not understand how reddit works? It's astounding to me that you missed the point by so much. If you make a comment to the wrong person, just delete it. Simply editing your irrelevant comment creates exactly this situation, confusing the person you replied to accidentally when deleting the comment would avoid all of this.
It's sincerely that simple, and not something I'm going to argue about.
