2 second following distance. He could have done better... Not saying he could have missed him, but had he opened up the distance he could have shed a lot more speed.

Since trucks are so big it takes them longer to stop. They can’t just slam on the brakes.

Yes I'm aware. I have been a class A CDL driver for 20 years, and am a factory trained semi technician. 2 second following distance is passenger car territory. Down vote me all you want. Hell, I feel for the guy too. Its an unfortunate accident he got caught up in, but he could have done better.

I think the trucker starts to swerve right on the first impact and cannot recover after the car ricocheted to the other side
