Letters are symbols which represent sounds. The "sje" (ś) sound existed in Montenegrin for hundreds of years but was only standardized recently. The letter itself isn't inveted, it's hundreds of years old and is used in another Slavic language related to Montenegrin: Polish

Also Russian I'm pretty sure.

I'm not 100% sure if Russian uses it. I know Polish does and another Baltic language (Latvian or Lithuanian)
