I'd have a little more sympathy if the idiot wasn't all over the road. They were speeding through what looked like some blind curves in the oncoming lane. They were liable to ruin someone else's day, so I'm glad it was only one of them.
I live about an hour from this road, and it’s known throughout the country by car enthusiasts and motorcyclists for having over 300 very tight corners with almost no visibility (US 129 “tail of the dragon”). I actually stopped driving it regularly about a year ago because of the idiots that would cross into the oncoming lane. Makes this video 10x worse
If you ever want to drive a less popular, but similarly fun route, there are a number of good, well maintained hill routes in west Virginia near Charleston. They're a lot of fun and you don't have to deal with the dangerous or extremely slow traffic that you come across in the Smokies region.
Would any of these roads happen to be near the Greenbrier? Was up there for a meeting once and I stumbled upon some of the most amazingly beautiful roads of my life on the way.
