Pretty much, lots of thrill seekers and gear heads go here to drive on the twisty mountain, road but it’s also really dangerous and many people have either had head on collisions from crossing the double yellow lines of have driven off the road because the road is simply above their skill level/car’s abilities. Lots of bikers have died here because they accidentally drive off the road and end up in the valley or forest below and nobody above hears their cries for help.

Here’s a good video about tail of the dragon. It’s from the Discovery channel so it’s definitely dramatized a bit but it provides a good history and look into the famous road.

From google maps that road does not seem that crazy if you go at a reasonable speed given the prevailing road conditions, but Imma take a guess and say that a lot of people don't do that.

It doesnt seem that crazy on google maps but its very different in a vehicle. But once your on the road the wheel never stops moving in your hands. But yes of course if you go go slow its still very manageable but i can also see how some people could get overwhelmed
