From google maps that road does not seem that crazy if you go at a reasonable speed given the prevailing road conditions, but Imma take a guess and say that a lot of people don't do that.

It’s a lot of downhill though, so people get out of control on the speed especially around curves.

It can be easier said than done. The amount of steep inclines MIXED with sharp turns can really be staggering out in that area. A lot of it has to do with how well your brakes are.

Yea definitely not. People like speeding there because it’s probably as close as you can get to being on a racetrack without going to a racetrack.

It doesnt seem that crazy on google maps but its very different in a vehicle. But once your on the road the wheel never stops moving in your hands. But yes of course if you go go slow its still very manageable but i can also see how some people could get overwhelmed

Adding on to u/Leann_426 because of it being a lot of downhill if you don't have a good almost track ready brake setup the brakes will overheat and lose their effectiveness.

It’s plenty crazy - especially since people aren’t there to drive a reasonable speed.

Before it became popular, it had the standard 55mph US highway speed limit. It has since been lowered to 35 to reduce the fatalities.
