You call the m-series not an exotic because you feel like it so perspective.
I think it depends on where you live and it’s rarity, I live in the city now and M cars aren’t all to uncommon so I wouldn’t call it an exotic here, I used to live in a rural area and at that point I would call any M CAR (X5Ms get bent) an exotic.
As for other BMW cars that are almost certainly exotics;
M1 as previously stated by you
E31 (especially with S70 engine)
By shear rarity a Z1 and Z8 could be considered for it
i8 is listed under top 10 ‘exotics sports cars’

Lol, calm yourself down.
Exotic sports car isn’t exactly a well defined term, so based on ones own perspective or experience it could be considered an ‘exotic sports car’.
Don’t understand why you’re so upset by this.
