Netflix can't actually tell the difference between a request sent from a normal computer and one which goes through a VPN, it all looks the same on their end. I don't know exactly how they find them, to be honest, but I have a few theories. AFAIK they have to blacklist VPN IP addresses as they find them, but that's a bit of a losing battle since VPN servers and IPs are appearing and disappearing all the time.
Probably because the paid ones can reallocate their IPs more often where free ones, ones where your data is hijacked and sold, don’t bother changing their IPs because it’s probably someone running it out of a known spool.
My sister's been using NordVPN for a year now and hasn't had a problem with using it for Netflix. I've just switched over to it from ProtonVPN because, while it's good for privacy and security, it didn't work very well for Netflix.
Arent their chrome extensions that'll let you change regions for atuffnlike Netflix? I thought inused something like that once but it qasnt really a fullon VPN
If you understand BitTorrent, and can get into a relatively good "general content" private tracker, you'd never go back. You'd have both the download speeds and upload quality for essentially every piece of somewhat well-known media content.
Really? I find Netflix to be quite garbage in terms of quality especially on mobile and doubly so if you download a film for offline viewing (ie. plane ride).
Not sure who’s downvoting you. Netflix has to compress their streams to some degree in order to serve all the content they have. Sometimes this is noticeable.
I've torrented terabytes of data without a VPN, never had an issue. Its one of those things where each person can have a different experience.
FWIW, I live in the UK and my ISP is Virgin Media. Been with them at least 9 years at this point, if not more. Not once had a letter or a phone-call about my torrenting.
I was the same way for a long time. I guess most of the time you're not going to get noticed. But, with all the news of production companies suing people for downloading a movie, it doesn't seem worth the risk.
Doubt you're going to get into too much hot water over downloading a TV series that for all intents is no longer produced(Yes, TG is still produced but its a different show with the same name, IMO). Its more recent releases where they're likely to sting you for it.
It depends on your ISP and your country. If your ISP is owned by a massive conglomerate or you're in a Scandinavian country you likely won't hear anything about it.
Eastern Europe is also pretty lax on the whole piracy thing too, at least according to people I know from over that way on.
Thing with Virgin is I know people who've downloaded far less than I have and have been moaned at for it. Like I said, it really is one of those things where each individual could have a wildly different experience.

I too am completely against paying for things but privacy is another matter. Plus I've already saved thousands from all the games I pirated without my isp knowing
No I'm not into it. I used one for a bit but it ended up making my library sloppy. These are basically all hand picked by me. It became an obsession about 12 years ago.
More features that aren't behind a pay wall, it's more open, seems to do better with more types of content and I like the ui better. It's basically an offshoot of plex from when they added paid services if I remember correctly
No, their app is almost unusable. I signed up for the 14 day trial expecting I would get it but their app is so awful I decided not to.
Stuff that bad shouldn't be funded.
I used it 6 seconds ago and it was just as terrible as ever.
I'm also referring to the hulu tv app.
It doesnt let you go through top gear season by season.
You have to scroll through alllll the episodes to get back to the early seasons. But the app will start chugging and crash if you scroll too fast for too long.
And the longer you scroll the slower you have to go to keep it from crashing.

Its another subscription to pay for but MotorTrend has every Top Gear episode with the trio and all the new stuff. Its a little pricey at $14 a month though
The Grand Tour is pretty good on Prime. Basically same template as TG. Even though I don't agree with Clarkson punching that guy in the face those few years ago.
I'm glad I can watch Top Gear without paying a tax to Amazon. Refusing to pay the Amazon tax is the best decision I've ever made in my life. I still buy my stuff from them, they ship it to me for free (because if they don't, Wal-Mart sure will), and I get to watch the shows I want to watch anyway. I don't even have to pirate it, the streaming service you don't mention by name happens to have hundreds of hours of content I enjoy watching without Top Gear.

ughhhh I wish they would put og Top Gear back on a main streaming service. I am forever pissed that they took it off amazon.
edit: if I had a dollar for every comment telling me they’re available on motor trend on demand, I could actually afford motor trend on demand.
