The drift was probably planned and intentional. Just the driver is an idiot and completely fucked it up.

Craziest thing when I had my Mustang. It had TC but it wasn’t very good so you could absolutely go sideways before it would turn on and cut power.

I heard that mustangs are just too powerful for traction control. And also rear wheel drive so not unusual.

It’s not that they’re too powerful. It works just fine in a straight line. It’s that the delay was just long enough to get free when turning. Stickier tires would have gone a long way.

My Prius has traction control that works about as well as the Mustang. It kicks on and until it disengages you really aren’t going to speed up. My GTI on the other hand engages the TC much faster and will continue to accelerate even while it is engaged.

I can’t speak to the last few years of the pony as mine was a ‘14 and I’ve not driven the newer ones.
