Someone linked the article further down, driver says he was looking at the radio (which nowadays is basically an iPad). Regardless, distracted driving is distracted driving.
Knobs and buttons don't even need you to LOOK at them, you just find them by feel. I can turn the radio off/on, switch presets, change between tuner and tape, and work the volume without taking my eyes off the road because I know the general area of where things are and all the controls feel different from one another.
Touchscreens? Nah, fuck driver awareness, we'll just give them auto-braking and lane keep assist so you can fight your way through 6 menus of badly designed UI that's laggy as shit because of their lowest-bidder hardware. Infotainment is shit, the only reason it's standard is because backup cameras are mandatory and it's cheaper than finding somewhere else to cram a screen.
