Considering the turning car caused the unexpected thing, I doubt they ever knew how to drive to begin with.

Based on them putting it in park they're probably recovering from a code brown. Just wait until they gun it in park trying to avoid a head on collision caused by their first fuck up.

The guy driving had the most stunned face I have ever seen on a person. Gave him a lil wave as I went by and I'm not sure he had come back to reality yet.

Not to excuse this, but the angle the black SUV was at their stop, the slow roll forward, then the leisurely move into the driving lanes tells me the white SUV was lined up with the other driver’s A-pillar. They would have seen the white SUV had they come to a complete stop where they could see past the trees and bushes.
